Job Title: Community Volunteer Coordinator

Accountable To: Pastor of Community

Status: Full Time (40 hours) Sunday - Thursday – Hourly non-exempt

Job Titles Supervised: All Volunteers

Purpose: To serve New Life Church by attracting, training, and mobilizing a large number of volunteers for every area of the Community team (Sections, Groups, Congregational Care)

Essential Responsibilities:

·  Lead and oversee the process of attracting, training, and mobilizing volunteers for the Community Team.

·  Develop, promote, and maintain a wide range of volunteer opportunities within the organization

·  Survey department staff regularly to assess needs for volunteer assistance

·  Maintain Volunteer Job Descriptions for each volunteer assignment

·  Create a clear and compelling volunteer pathway that enables potential volunteers to be equipped and quickly placed in clearly defined roles

·  Recruit, interview and place applicants in volunteer positions

·  Work in ongoing and focused collaboration with Pastors of Sections, Groups & Congregational Care to ensure there is an abundance of trained and inspired volunteers ready to carry out the mission and vision of the Community Team.

·  Meet regularly to give updates with Community Pastor

·  Work with the Volunteer Director and the Creative Department to publicize opportunities for volunteers

·  Plan recruiting events within the church to attract qualified candidates

·  Meet regularly with the Community Associate Pastors — Sections, Groups, & Congregational Care

·  Demonstrate intentionality in organizing and participating in volunteer recognition programs

·  Develop and manage volunteer policies, procedures, and Dream Team standards

·  Contribute to the development and maintenance of the Community Team Handbook.

·  Serve as host and hospitality for volunteer-related meetings and trainings

·  Maintain accurate records and provide timely statistical and activity reports on volunteer participation.

·  Assist with financial reimbursements for volunteers as needed.

·  Assist with the communication to groups of volunteers (Sections, Groups, Congregational Care, Ushers, etc.)

·  Help to maintain current Fellowship One People lists and Groups for the purpose of communication with our volunteers.

·  Demonstrate ongoing financial support of the ministries of New Life Church.

·  Attend regular staff meetings and additional meetings when requested.

·  Work in close association with the entire staff to build and maintain a strong team environment among our staff and complete the work necessary to fully serve and support the ministries and events of New Life Church.

·  Cooperate with the Community Pastor by performing any other duties when asked to do so.

Minimum Requirements:

Education: High school diploma or the equivalent, some college preferred.

Experience: Minimum 2 years administrative or related work experience.

Connection: Must be a current active member of New Life Church.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

·  Strong computer skills, including familiarity, experience and ability to navigate and produce documents within a variety of software applications (MS Office Suite, databases, MS Outlook) and strong Internet researching skills.

·  Strong organizational and office skills.

·  Ability to read and carry out written and oral instructions.

·  Ability to perform basic arithmetical functions.

·  Good analytical skills with the ability to extract data and draw conclusions.

·  Ability to verbally communicate effectively and tactfully at all levels.

·  Personable and helpful attitude.

·  Ability to handle constantly changing priorities and demands.

·  Excellent grammar and written communication skills.

·  Ability to handle multiple tasks and to complete projects with little guidance.

·  Able to work well under pressure.

·  Maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information.

·  Proficient with general office equipment such as scanners, copiers, calculators, fax machines, etc.

Evaluation Method:

·  Annual Staff Performance Appraisal
