Minutes/Conclusions Reached:
1. Partners in Interoperability April 26-27
· Reminder: Registration is open
· HL7 is targeting three groups to engineer standards that meet their stakeholder needs.: 1) BioPharma, 2) Payer/Provider and 3) Clinicians
· The goal is to close gaps in standards of interest to each group
· The value to payers is collaboration with providers in the move to value-based care
· Information is posted on the HL7 website (http://www.hl7.org/events/interoperability042016/?ref=banner )
2. Supplemental Guide Ballot Reconciliation
· The final document (Version 3.7) is posted on the AWG website.
· The AWG is requested to review this version.
· Pending final review, the AWG will vote on moving the document to publication.
· Pending the affirmative result of the vote, all negative ballot participants will be requested to withdraw their negative vote.
· Liora will review the appropriate version of the Quick Reference Guide to add information to section 3.1.2
· The group will review the need for inclusion of Document Succession and the recommendation for it in the STU
· Typos in section 3.1.2 were corrected
· The ASC X12 PWK report types and LOINC requirements will be reviewed.
3. HIMSS16 Update – Five takeaways
· The pledge – Industry leader pledge to improve interoperability including 90 % of EHR vendors and five of the largest hospitals in the US.
· FHIR Cloud – using the FHIR standard to leverage clinical data stored in the cloud.
· CMS backs up the doctors – regulations are slowing doctors down need a user centered approach to designing policy such as MACRA.
· Payer-Provider convergence – payer and provider goals are becoming more aligned and both need to work together to bend the cost curve.
· Moving along on the population health train – need to marry clinical data and financial data to manage chronic diseases.
4. Montreal WGM
· REMINDER: the workgroup will be meeting in Montreal May 8-13
· There will also be a Connectathon on May 7-8th.
· It was recommended that those attending make travel arrangements early due to high traffic period.
