Spór’Sport agus Spraoi le Colaistí’ – October 14th, 2009

VENUE: UCD, Stillorgan.

September 2009

A Chara,

On behalf of Cumann Camógaíochta Na nGael and University College Dublin, we wish to invite your school to participate in a day that focuses on fun and participation in Camogie. This event is for 1st year girls and will cater for both beginners and experienced players.

This event is a partnership between the Local Secondary Schools, Dun Laoghaire/Rathdown sports partnership, Cumann Camógaíochta na nGael, The Irish Sports Council and UCD. It is aimed at increasing participation in the game and improving communications between parties thereby enhancing the profile of Camogie. Hurleys, helmets and sliotars for use by beginner schools, along with prizes and promotional materials for all participants has been kindly funded through grants received from all the above partners.

This one-day event will consist of three sections namely:

a)  The Skills for All Section is for those who have never played Camogie before (beginners) or have had limited opportunity to play (improvers) to date. This will consist of a skills coaching session administered by the UCD camogie team of which there are many inter-county stars.

b)  The 10-a-side Blitz section is for those who currently play Camogie at club/school level and for the beginners to Camogie. If your school does not have enough to make up a team please send in participating numbers and we will match these players with other schools in the same position.

c)  A specific coaching course for the Team Managers/Teachers.

We encourage all schools to participate and look forward to meeting you then. Any queries please do not hesitate to contact me at the number below.

Please return application forms to the address below.

Closing Date: Wednesday 7th October at 5pm.

Kind Regards

Eve
