SUMMARY

Develops a recruitment and marketing plan to connect with potential foster parents and to promote the agency foster care program..

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Implement plan through multiple marketing activities which may include networking, community meetings, media outreach, website development, presentations and visibility campaign (ads/classifieds, direct mail, brochures).

Identify, solicit, cultivate and maintain relationships with churches, educational institutions, community groups, associations and other community entities to ensure visibility for the agency’s foster care program.

Develop and complete a detailed monthly recruitment activity plan of specific tasks to reach annual objectives and targets of the overall recruitment goals.

Coordinate the creation of compelling and high quality marketing materials in accordance with agency guidelines that inform and educate prospective foster parents about the role foster parents have in the lives of youth. Coordinate production with the Family Development Specialist.

Receive incoming calls and emails regarding foster care recruitment as well as conduct follow-up calls to any individual inquiring about becoming a foster parent.

Track all activities (visits, contacts, community events, presentations, materials distributed) and results.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelors Degree in a relevant field and 2 years experience which may include a combination of social services, public relations or marketing. Demonstrated understanding of outreach and/or recruiting into the community, specifically to socio-economically and culturally diverse groups.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS This position requires the following additional qualifications.

Valid State Driver’s License (In good standing). If moving to Illinois after position is accepted, must obtain an Illinois Driver’s License within 30 days from Date of Hire.

CPR & First Aid Certification within 30 days from date of hire

Current physical and TB (PPD) test within 30 days of employment.

Appropriate automobile insurance (at least state minimum)

Signed employee acknowledgement of physical health and infection control responsibilities.

Ability to handle confidential information.

Ability to utilize computer programs including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel and other software products.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively with employees, managers, clients, vendors and others.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
