Please complete this form, stating that you have performed at least 10 hours of community service, outside of helping your own family, and have it signed by a non-family member. Turn in by April 20, 2018 to Mr. Almond, Mrs. Almond, Mrs. Jones, or Ms. Tucker.
Community Service is defined as any charitable organization (Church, Scouts, Humane Society, Red Cross, homeless shelter, etc.) by giving time for the betterment of your community without thought of compensation.

Five Paragraph Essay on Service to the Community
Write a five paragraph essay on the importance of community service. This paper should follow procedures of the writing process. You need to:
· Brainstorm ideas before you write and jot them down
· Begin a rough draft of your paper
· Revise your draft
· Edit the draft, checking for punctuation, spelling, and grammatical errors
· Write your final copy
This paper should follow the standard essay format of introduction, body, and conclusion.
· First, the introductory paragraph should define community service, and list or name three ideas about why it is important to you.
· Then, each idea should be detailed in the next three paragraphs, which is the body of the essay.
· Last, the final paragraph should be your closing or summary paragraph.
You should submit your final copy by the deadline of April 20, 2018 to Mr. Almond, Mrs. Almond, Mrs. Jones, or Ms. Tucker.
