Worksheet 14: Snakes & Ladders game
Game rules
Equipment: Die and counters
Aim:
To practise questions and answers on personal identification from words found on forms.
To prepare and practise form filling activities.
Instructions:
- Each player takes a turn to throw the die and moveshis/her counter the number of spaces shown on the dice.
- The player then asks the other player the question indicated by the word they have landed on. For example, if player lands on ‘surname’ he/she asks the other player ‘What’s your surname?’ and the other player answers the question.
Age: How old are you?
Nationality: What’s your nationality?
Surname: What’s your surname?
- Then player 2 throws the dice and so on. The first player to reach ‘FINISH’ is the winner.
Note:
Playing board games may be a new concept to the learner. You may need to very carefully explain and model how to play the game. It would be helpful to have a list of questions written out because forming questions is a difficult task in itself.
