‘A’ group Leader – David Hewitt 976525
‘B’ group Leader - Tony Hill
All walks are usually 5 to 7 miles and start at 10.30 a.m. Stout footwear and waterproofs are required. Bring a picnic lunch and drink. If in any doubt about weather and conditions, ring the walk leader before setting out, or meet at the pre-arranged meeting place where the walk leader will decide with members if the walk is to go ahead. The web site copy of the programme will be updated regularly with any changes. Please see . You don’t need to be registered onto the site to see it as the programme is not within the members area..
Do keep to the right-hand side when walking roads, and do not get in front of the walk leader, who will try to satisfy both slow and fast walkers. Leaders may provide historical or similar information to which other members are invited to contribute.
Try to use spare seats in cars to help with parking problems and the environment. Ensure that you carry any medicaments that you may need on the walk. Do not bring dogs. Walk programmes are distributed on bus/walks or at meetings, otherwise send an S.A.E to David or Tony.
Should you wish to walk with the other group, please contact the walk leader of the day, who will normally try to accommodate you unless the group becomes too large to manage.
Most members are prepared to offer other members lifts, so please take the opportunity to reduce car use whenever possible. Normal insurance does not allow charging for lifts but passengers may wish to consider making a sensible donation!
TRAVEL BY BUS. (TBB) AS MOST MEMBERS HAVE A FREE BUSPASS, IT MAKES SENSE TO USE SERVICE BUSES TO REACH THE START OF A WALK. WE MUST REGARD THIS AS OUR CONTRIBUTION TO IMPROVING OUR ENVIRONMENT.
