Dear Patients

As you are aware we are having a large extension built at the main site and we anticipate this to be open by early November. The main branch site has been designed to be a hub for health and wellbeing and will offer a lot of additional services including social care along with the voluntary sector and is an exciting forward thinking step for New Pond Row Surgery and its patients.

The partners and NHS England have invested a significant sum of money to the project which demonstrates a real commitment to the Lancing community and future healthcare.

The local economy is changing rapidly and the demands on the NHS are significant, unless we change what we are doing we will not survive in the current economic environment, you will be aware there are new building developments and little or no investment coming through we felt we had to do something.

We have had to make the difficult decision to close the Old Shoreham Road Branch on 31/12/2017 as a recent inspection by NHS England confirmed that the surgery needs significant investment and without the right access and facilities would be deemed not fit for purpose in the next couple of years. We have worked in partnership with Dr Peskett to keep the branch open as long as we can.

There is nothing that you as a patient need to do your registration will not change. All current clinical staff and receptionists are transferring to the main site at 35 South Street, Lancing.

We feel we are offering the best possible solution to the current demands on us and hope for your continued support.
