Committee

Members Present: Gail Reynolds (chairperson), Eduard Eloi, David May, John Roth, Peter Wendrychowicz (vice-chairperson),

Meeting was called to order at 7:34 P.M.

.

§  On motions from David May and Eduard Eloi, the minutes of the April 14, 2009 meeting were accepted unanimously.

§  Resignation – In a motion by Dave May and John Roth the resignation from the Mahwah Community News Committee by Alex Michelini was accepted with great reluctance.

§  MCN Meets Series – The chief Battelli interview has been well received by both the committee and the community. Jefferson Sampson and Eduard Eloi wish to increase the interview volume. Dr. Mercer of Ramapo College will be MCN Meets next guest. With the college now on summer hours Friday shoots are not possible. The committee will also attempt to schedule multiple interviews during the summer months.

§  Verizon Training –Future Shots – May 21 Senior Fashion Show, May 23 Fishing Contest, May 25 Memorial Day Parade. Peter will meet with Charlie regarding the upcoming 2009 High School Graduation. Also will look into Mahwah High School Sporting events and school concerts.

§  Miscellaneous- David May suggested that the committee commission a plaque commemorating all the great work and dedication as a member of the Mahwah Community News. Everyone unanimously agreed and John Roth would arrange with the Township Administrator to have a suitable plaque prepared. Gail Reynolds and John Roth will attend a meeting with Mayor Martel, Ms. Jane Dewan, representative of the Mahwah Museum, and Mr. Les Paul to discuss involvement with the museum and, hopefully, MCN. Mahwah Day will be on September 26 with a final pre-Mahwah Day meeting on September 14. Peter Wendrychowicz would contact Ms. Dawn DaPuzo regarding the positioning of MCN’s booth and the possibility for electricity at the booth.

§  Adjournment - On the motion by John Roth, and a second by David May, the meeting was adjourned at 8:23 PM.

The next meeting of the committee is scheduled for Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at 7:30 P.M.
