1. Meeting called to order at 8:00 P.M. in the Gymnasium, Berkeley Elementary School.

The New Jersey Open Public Meeting Law was enacted to ensure the right of the public to have advance notice of and to attend the meetings of public bodies at which any business affecting their interests is discussed or acted upon. In accordance with the provisions of this Act, the Westwood Regional Board of Education has caused notice of this meeting to be sent to the following announcing time and place thereof:

THE BOARD WILL TAKE ACTION ON OR REVIEW THE FOLLOWNG ITEMS FOR POSSIBLE PLACEMENT ON THE MARCH 22, 2007 REGULAR MONTHLY PUBLIC MEETING AGENDA.
8. AWARDS AND RECOGNITION: None
9. PERSONNEL/NEGOTIATIONS: Mrs. Mosolino, Ch.
A. Motion: that upon the recommendation of the Superintendent, approval be given
movement on guide to WEA staff members retroactive to February 1, 2007,
as per the list dated March 9, 2007.
B. Motion: that upon the recommendation of the Superintendent, approval be given
the appointment of Barbara Tobiassen, Long Term Substitute, Jr. Sr. High School
as per the list dated March 9, 2007.
C. Motion: that upon the recommendation of the Superintendent, approval be given
the resignation of Karen Mrsich, Grade 2 teacher, Berkeley School
effective June 30, 2007.
D. Motion: that upon the recommendation of the Superintendent, approval be
given the resignation of Jennifer Hernandez, Kindergarten teacher,
Jessie George School effective June 30, 2007.
E. Motion: that upon the recommendation of the Superintendent, approval be given
the revised salary for Kim Stensgard, Pupil Aide, Ketler School
as per the list dated March 9, 2007.
F. Motion: that upon the recommendation of the Superintendent, approval be given
the appointment of Michelle Marinan, substitute aide, as per the list
dated March 9, 2007.
G. Motion: that upon the recommendation of the Superintendent, approval be given
the resignation of Nancy Malvasi, Pupil Aide, Washington School,
effective March 9, 2007.
H. Motion: that upon the recommendation of the Superintendent, approval be given
the appointment of substitute teachers as per the list dated March 9, 2007.
I. Motion: that upon the recommendation of the Superintendent, approval be given
the resignation of Loren Tropea, Pupil Aide, Washington School,
effective March 15, 2007.
J. Motion: that upon the recommendation of the Superintendent, approval be given
the appointment of Susan Gallo, Pupil Aide, Washington School, as
per the list dated March 9, 2007.
K. Motion: that upon the recommendation of the Superintendent, the following
resolution regarding Rocio Martinez, Teacher of Spanish, Jr. Sr. High School
be adopted:
RESOLUTION
BE IT RESOLVED that the sixty (60) day notice provision of the individual employment contract
of Rocio Martinez shall be invoked and that her employment shall be terminated, effective
March 12, 2007;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that pursuant to N.J.S.A. 18A:27-9, said employee shall not perform any further duties as a teaching staff member in the Westwood Regional School District during the notice period;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Superintendent of Schools/Board Secretary shall immediately provide said employee with the notice of termination.
L. Any Personnel/Negotiations addendum items will be considered at this time.
10. FINANCE: Mrs. Koski, Ch.
A. Motion: that upon the recommendation of the Superintendent, approval be given for out of district tuition contracts for the 2006-07 school year as per the attached list.
B. Motion: that approval be given the appointment of the firm of McKinley, White & Co. as School Board Auditors for the 2006-2007 school year in accordance with budgetary provisions. .
C. Any Finance addendum items will be considered at this time.
11. CURRICULUM/PROGRAMS: Mrs.Gregory, Ch.

12. LEGISLATION/POLICY: Mrs. Mountain, Ch.
A. Motion: that upon the recommendation of the Superintendent, that the Board approve as a 2nd reading the following Policies:

C. Motion: that upon the recommendation of the Superintendent, approval be given to the Westwood Regional Schools 2007-2008 Calendar as per the listed dated
March 9, 2007.

REJECTION OF BIDS FOR VINYL COMPOSITION TILE
BID #07-08-106
RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the Board of Education, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 18A-18A-1 et seq advertised for Vinyl Composition Tile to be installed at the Brookside school, and
WHEREAS, it was determined that the specifications needed to be revised, and
WHEREAS, 18A:18A-22(d) permits the board of education to reject all bids if they need to substantially revise the specifications, and
WHEREAS, the Assistant to the Business Administrator has notified all bidders,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Business Administrator be and hereby is authorized and directed to re-bid the aforesaid project pursuant to new specifications.
E. Any Buildings/Grounds addendum items will be considered at this time.
15. ATHLETICS/PERFORMING ARTS: Mrs. Hanlon, Ch.

17. PUBLIC RELATIONS: Mr. Liddy, Ch.
A. Motion: to receive and file the board communications as per the attached list.
B. Any Public Relations addendum items will be considered at this time.
18. OPEN FORUM
During this portion of the meeting, the residents are invited to address the Board with any questions, comments, or concerns that may be in respect to the operation of their schools. In so doing, the Board requests the individual address the Board, giving name and address, and asks that all remarks be directed to the Board. The Board wishes to remind all attendees at its meetings that while it subscribes without reservation to the principle of keeping the community completely informed, by policy it cannot allow public discussion of personnel matters. Each speaker will be limited to addressing two items of concern.
If a matter concerning staff of the Westwood Regional School District is of interest or concern to a resident, the matter should be referred to the responsible Building Principal, Superintendent of Schools, or the Board of Education, either by telephone or letter. The Open Forum will be limited to one hour duration.
19. ADJOURNMENT
Motion: that this meeting be adjourned and the Board meet in Private Executive Session for
the purpose of discussion of personnel and negotiation matters. The decisions
which emanate from these discussions will be disclosed to the public when action is taken by the Board.
