We hope we can count on your support as the Jackson Heights Beautification Group honors the people and groups that make Jackson Heights the place where we love to live and work. On Sept. 26, we will present these individuals and organizations with our Good Neighbor Awards at the Community United Methodist Church.
You may know us already. The Jackson Heights Beautification Group brings art to our diverse community with Summer Sundays in the Park concerts, the Jackson Heights Orchestra and the Children’s Art Contest. We plant gardens (at 69th and 90th Streets and P.S. 69 and 212; care for street trees; remove graffiti, and compost fruit and veggie waste. We produce the beloved Halloween Parade, and run the Historic Weekend tours. We also fought to create and protect the historic landmark district in Jackson Heights; battled to improve and expand Travers Park, and are now working to create a new, rebuilt Diversity Pedestrian Plaza at 37th Road. The list goes on.
So how can you help us continue our work? We hope you will sponsor our Good Neighbor Awards event with an ad in our Good Neighbor Awards Dinner Journal or with the donation of a raffle gift. Not only will this help us continue our mission, but it will demonstrate for all Jackson Heights to see your support for our community.
