1) Please give a short description of the company/ organization and the department/ place of work, where the placement is to be completed:
The University of Alberta believes there has never been a better time to provide an international dimension to learning, discovery and citizenship. Driven by this vision to connect with the world, University of Alberta International (UAI) works on the front line and behind the scenes to support the creation of an internationally vibrant learning and research environment. The internship will take place within the Administrative Unit, that provides support to the other UAI units for Finance, Administration, Human Resources, Information Technology, and Communications.
2) Please give a detailed job description of the planned internship and list tasks of trainee as well as knowledge, skills and competences to be acquired through the internship:
The trainee would work with various individuals in the unit to: provide support for the Vice-Provost & Associate Vice-President via the Executive Assistant by covering her desk when she is away, preparing meeting materials, and covering reception when needed; work with the Administrative Officer on archiving files and documentation following the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy legislation, and preparing orientation materials and packages; work with the financial team in filing and reporting; assist the Communications Specialist in writing daily news articles or news items as needed.
3) Please describe monitoring and mentoring during the internship:
The intern will report to the Administrative Officer who will provide overall mentorship and monitoring.

Remuneration by Host organisation

Please note that the ASiiA programme is based on co-financing. LEONARDO-OFFICE PART SAXONY acts on the assumption that participants should also receive a financial support by their host enterprise as this has been set as a condition of the funding organization (European Recovery Program) to cover all the costs during the trainees stay. The payment can also include benefits in form of free accommodation or free meals. Additional or higher financial support for the trainee is greatly appreciated.

Please make sure that all payments are stated as net amounts and in the exact currency.
