Student Code of Conduct

1.  You are expected to participate in all planned activities. The only excuse for absence is illness.

2.  Arrive on time for all activities and for each meal. Buses and tour guides will depart on schedule.

3.  A nightly curfew as established by the chaperones will be enforced. Bed checks will be made each night. Once the bed check has been made, you may not leave your room for any reason without the chaperone’s permission. For your own protection you may not change your assigned room. Always lock your hotel room. Any incidental personal expenses must be paid prior to departure from the hotel.

4.  Take care of your personal belongings, especially your passports, spending money, credit cards, keys, etc. Recovery of such items is the responsibility of and at the expense of the student.

5.  Students must show consideration and respect for fellow students, chaperones, guides, bus drivers, and hotel and restaurant personnel. You are an ambassador for both BJHS and the United States. Represent yourself appropriately.

6.  You may not leave the tour group individually for any reason. All free time activities must be accomplished in groups of three or more. Your chaperones must always be told who is participating, where the group is going, and what time they will return. You may not go out at might unless accompanied by a chaperone.

7.  The laws abroad protect the rights of any individual to a restful night’s sleep. The hotel and police will enforce this right. Slamming doors, running in the hallways, shouting, etc. are forbidden.

8.  Any damages or taking of hotel property will delay departure and cause you financial responsibility. When checking into your room report any damages immediately.

9.  You many not enter or ride in any unapproved motorized vehicles.

10.  You are not permitted to drink alcoholic beverages, smoke cigarettes, or take illegal drugs. A student caught in possession of the above items will be sent home at their parents’ expense.

11.  You are forewarned that the use and / or possession of drugs constitutes breaking the law and are punishable by law. I will not be able to assist any student who violates the law.

Any student whose actions impose upon or disturb the other members of the tour or who disregards any of the above may be returned home immediately at the expense of the parents or guardians.
