CHAPTER 2. TARGET ENTRY CODES FOR CHAPTER 31

2.01 GENERAL

The codes described in this chapter are entered into the Target System at the regional office level by an authorized operator. Entry of these codes will be done on the 331, 332, and/or 333 screens using the CADJ or CDAT command, on the M32, M33, M34, and the M36 screens using the CORR command, or the 320 screen using the CAST command.

2.02 CASE STATUS REASON CODE

These are two-digit codes used to close a chapter 31 case status, except for discontinued case status codes which will be entered when the case status is opened.

2.14 CONDITION CODE

These codes are the service-connected and nonservice-connected diagnostic codes from the VA rating. If the condition is a combination of more than one diagnostic code, entry of two codes for the same condition can be entered (NNNN/NNNN). ES (extraschedular), US (underschedular) and PP (permanent partial evaluation) codes may also be used if necessary.
