What better way to beat off the January blues than a five-day festival celebrating the wholesome and eclectic sounds of traditional Irish music, Celtic rock, folk, nufolk and world music. The festival is a not-for-profit event and is one of the few fully independent music festivals in the country – an ethos that ensures ticket prices are kept low alongside many free events.
TradFest also offers concert goers unique opportunities to experience live music in some of Dublin’s most historic places. From the breathtaking nave of St. Patrick’s Cathedral to the grandeur of City Hall, the intimacy of St Werburgh’s and the historic backdrop of Dublin city, TradFest is a feast for the eyes and ears.
Knit into this a line-up that boasts artists such as Judy Collins, Big Country and Martha Wainwright and Dublin’s Temple Bar is sure to liven up the post-Christmas lull next January.
Dublin’s annual TradFest now attracts over 25,000 visitors, an increase of 8% on 2017, with one third of those attending international fans travelling from America, the UK and Europe.
