4Public Forum, Funding Applications

a) E mail received, minutes not put on web site since September. Confused as to the Forum stance on green belt development, against Butts Lane development, but only limited objection to Victoria Road. Reply promised.

Clarification, forum involved with Victoria Road development, little to object to, within master plan, decided to work with developers and get the best possible outcome, access not adequate.

Butts Lane lots of grounds to object, where green belt land has no reasonable ground to object, get best result possible; where there are good grounds, then object.

b) News for Ruskin Road park, Sylvia Yates was impressed with the coverage in the press, and presentation Stuart, Connor & Poppy gave. She has applied to the Viola Trust for funding. £15,000 approved, and up to £10,000 of match funding too. The young people had some good ideas, must have seating; not just benches, seats in rings, like Olympics. Paint in Olympic colours too.

We have some reserves in funds; offer £500 to kick start appeal? Co-op is well worth approaching for funding; Murco have a proportion of sales funding to the Community fund; how to apply?

c) Ring fence £500 towards the Stanford & Corringham carnival? Yes

5Correspondence

a) 20th January, shaping Thurrock transport consultation, plan next 4 years.

b) Transport census.

c) Letter from TBC, cabinet meeting to discuss derelict & unsafe buildings legislation; 4 criteria:

1 Location within the street scene;

2 Location in relation to conservation area or listed building;
