PRESIDENT’S CORNER . . . .

Although you wouldn’t know it today, winter’s chill is coming. This weekend marks the end of daylight savings time for 2011. While the holiday season is a busy time for all with family and friends, we should also start saving time to help our club. Believe it or not, planning for our fundraising banquet and SOHR Award will begin this month. I will be seeking club members to be involved in selecting our next SOHR recipient. Brian will be asking for participation with our fundraising efforts, i.e. locating sponsors, securing auction items and coordinating the event. We will again be adopting a family – or two - for Neighbors Inc. and will need a volunteer(s) to shop on the club’s behalf. Our program chairs should be considering and scheduling the speakers that ensure interesting and informative meetings during these coming months – typically our best attended. Take this opportunity to invite a guest or prospective member to a meeting. Finally, good luck to all our hunters. Stay safe and come back with great stories. Joe

BEST WISHES to John Buchanan . . . . .

John is having complete shoulder replacement surgery today (Tuesday) at St. John’s Hospital. Good luck John – hope you are back soon!

November is The Rotary Foundation Month

Even though John is in the hospital we want everyone thinking about the work of the Rotary Foundation this month. Here are some reminders of their work:

1.  The Rotary Foundation continues to work on their primary goal to eradicate polio throughout the world. That job is not yet complete.

2.  The Rotary Foundation changes lives with their continuing work throughout the world to provide clean water, health care, etc. through many projects.

3.  The Rotary Foundation is funded solely through contributions from individual Rotarians. Your giving makes an impact on the lives throughout the world and is, therefore, a financially sound decision.

Remember --- Every Rotarian, Every Year.
