Post:Head of Commercial Training

Salary:spot salary £50k

Responsible to:Director of Business Development

Key responsibility:

To profitably grow the commercial training portfolio across B&FC

Duties

  1. To research and identify new profitable commercial training opportunities across B&FC to support B&FC’s diversification of income whilst exceeding the needs of its diverse customer base.
  2. To create and implement a commercial training business strategy and annual plan and deliver against agreed business objectives and financial targets around revenue growth and market share
  3. To develop and maintain exemplary stakeholder engagement and high levels of satisfaction as demonstrated by repeat business
  4. To ensure regular reviews are undertaken with all customers, to ensure that their needs are being met and outstanding customer service is achieved or exceeded and, developing future improvements/services for the customer.
  5. To effectively liaise with Heads of Curriculum to present and develop new commercial training opportunities in their respective industry sector(s)
  6. To support Heads of Curriculum to develop as effective account managers to ensure consistency of the customer journey across B&FC
  7. To develop short commercial training programmes in line with own areas of expertise
  8. To monitor the new commercial training activities ensuring maximum occupancy levels and deliver maximum provision profitability.
  9. To undertake the full quality assurance role for directly delivered commercial training as outlined by the Quality Directorate
  10. To effectively line manage direct reports to create and sustain a high performing, motivated team with outstanding two-way communications
  11. To effectively manage costs for short commercial training programmes, productions, and publications in order to deliver the required return on investment
  12. To champion and lead each new product or service development, from innovation through to successful implementation across each business function, to enable it to become a core part of the business at B&FC.
  13. To review and assess the potential to develop strategic partnerships with sector specialists and/or associates
  14. To remain abreast of external factors such as competitors, government business initiatives, current and proposed legislation in relation to commercial activities which impact the business and communicate such information and their impact upon B&FC promptly the Director of Business Development (DoBD) and Senior Management Team (SMT).
  15. To effectively communicate with all major stakeholders, both internal and external, to achieve business objectives.
  16. To collate, analyse and report business data pertaining to all commercial activities.
  1. To schedule and deliver short training programmes in line with own areas of expertise, both on and off site
  2. To review, modify and create commercial short course learning materials and training manuals, on line and hard copy
  3. To represent B&FC externally as required

Duties of all Managers

  1. To support the College in its corporate endeavors and the achievement of its mission and strategic plan.
  2. To contribute to an annual self-assessment exercise in order to monitor and evaluate performance.
  3. To lead by example and provide a visible demonstration of the Leadership and Management Charter.
  4. To establish and secure quality improvement.
  5. To assist in the recruitment and selection process and be responsible for the development and annual performance review of relevant staff.
  6. To manage resources effectively and efficiently to the high standards expected in the public services.
  7. To establish effective communication.
  8. To maintain and improve Health and Safety standards in the area of responsibility.
