Nestled into a cozy corner of Deerfield at the end of a private lane, Tennaqua is a hidden gem.

Tennaqua is a member-run, private equity club that operates year-round. Our membership is limited to 300 families who come from seven different ZIP codes in surrounding communities and span generations.

It is an active club dedicated to promoting family-oriented activities and fostering a keen interest in tennis and platform tennis amongst its members. With a long and rich tennis tradition and an enthusiastic platform tennis community, the Tennaqua Swim & Racquet Club is looking for a Director of Platform Tennis Professional who will embrace and respect the club's storied past while bringing enthusiasm and creativity into its racquets program.

Position Overview

The Director of Platform Tennis Professional will be responsible for the continued building and promoting of the platform tennis programs while engaging and inspiring all ages and genders across a wide range of playing abilities. For Platform Tennis you will be responsible for organizing and providing individual and group lessons, clinics, and camps, in addition to supporting and running club tournaments and other events. It is expected that you will be a knowledgeable teacher who is great with adults and children; moreover, you possess the enthusiasm and drive necessary togrow the beginner and junior programs. In addition, this role has a supplementary income opportunity to work closely with the Director of Tennis and assist in providing individual and group lessons, clinics, and camps, in addition to supporting and helping run club tournaments and other events.

Duties and Responsibilities

•Must be a certified Paddle Instructor with exceptional racquets skills and develop platform tennis programs to engage members of all playing levels and genders

•Provide individual and group lessons (Available weekdays & weekends)

•Continue building a robust member-centric beginner, junior and High School programs that engages adultschildren of all ages

•Oversee & perform maintenance on the 4 platform tennis courts. Assist in the maintenance of the 4 HarTru tennis courts and 6 hard courts (if needed)

•Must be willing to assist the Director of Tennis in providing individual and group lessons, clinics, and camps, in addition to supporting and helping run club tennis tournaments and other events. Summer tennis opportunities exist from short-term instruction to program management long-term.

•Encourage and promote participation in league play as well as local tournaments

•Implement and keep up-to-date with new teaching techniques and receive certification from both the APTA, and USPTA/PTRand PPTAas necessary

•Help organize, promote, and administer club tournaments and social platform tennis mixers.

•Promote and market racquets programs to themembership to increase overall interest and frequency of participation.

•Run the platform tennis pro shop and tend to the equipment needs of members.

•Possess excellent organizational and managerial skills and maintain an accurate record of all lessons and clinics given as well as billing.

•Participate on all committees related to the platform tennis operation

•Ensure that all club members and guests receive courteous, prompt and professional attention to all of their racquets need.

•Must have exceptional communication skills and must be willing and able to effectively communicate and interact withclubmembers,bothonandoffthecourts,andwiththeTENNAQUAClub ManagerandtheTENNAQUARacquetsRepresentatives.

•Adhere to all Tennaqua policies & procedures and maintain the highest degree of integrity, honesty, and character
