Unit 10 (exercise 8a) – Adjective Dictation Exercise
Instructions:
Most of the adjectives included in Exercise 8 of Unit 10 in the textbook will be new to low-level students – this activity gets the students telling each other the meanings of these (and a few other new adjectives.
Step 1 – Divide the class into 5 groups and give each member of the group the same adjective sheet with the same 4 answers included.
Step 2 – Tell the students to stand up and tell 2 of their answers to a member of another group, and allow them to write down the answer on their sheet – and then let the other student tell you 2 answers and write them down on your sheet.
Step 3 – Exchange papers and repeat the procedure again with another student. Repeat until all the students have all the answers.
Step 4 – Students sit down – they have one minute to memorize the answers – after one minute they test their partner:
a) “A person becomes angry quickly.”
b) “Bad-tempered!”
Step 5 – Go into exercise 8b on page 67.
