Awards keep coming for Hyundai i30

The Hyundai i30 has been judged the Supreme Winner in the 2009 AA Motoring Excellence Awards. The i30 Diesel Elite swept the field of 52 vehicles to be named both the winner of the compact car class as well as the best car overall.

The annual awards identify and reward excellence amongst new vehicles. They also provide New Zealand motorists with an independent assessment to assist with their car purchases.

"The i30 represents outstanding value, quality, safety and reliability; traits which Hyundai strive for in all of our vehicles," said Philip Eustace, Executive Director Hyundai Motors New Zealand, "Putting another award into the i30's already bulging trophy cabinet is a great way to kick off our campaign for the i30 Wagon.”

Each vehicle is judged on design, performance, dynamics, practicality, execution, value for money and safety during the rigorous testing process that tales place over a week-long trial.

AA General Manager of Technical Services, Stella Stocks, says the Hyundai i30 Diesel, “is an excellent and affordable car that performs well in all the areas we assess, particularly road safety.”

“The Hyundai i30 Diesel goes the extra mile to deliver more than expected in every area, providing all the right answers to buyers demanding honesty and frugality in a compact car purchase."

In winning the compact car class the i30 beat contenders from Honda, Mitsubishi, Peugeot, Subaru and Toyota. The i30 is available in a variety of specification levels with both petrol and clean burning diesel engines and the choice of manual and automatic gearboxes. The range starts from as little as $29,490.
