Re:Engagement of Y/Y Firm as your BAS Agent

Confirming our discussions of datewe/I[use “we” when talking of the firm/practice and “I” when referring to the principal or if a sole trader] are pleased to accept appointment as your BAS Agent for the 20XX/20XX year and beyond. This document sets out the terms of our/my engagement with you. As required under the Tax Agent Services Act 2009we/Iwill be subject to the provisions of that law. As your BAS Agent we/I will:

(a)analyse, discuss and make recommendations regarding your bookkeeping requirements such as ....;

(b)liaise with your accountant/Tax Agent on relevant issues and

(b) prepare and lodge your Business Activity Statement (BAS)

In addition to the basic financial information required to complete your BAS, it is expected that the source documentation will be made available, youare responsible for ensuring you comply with the substantiation provisions of the relevant tax laws.We/I will not be responsible for any errors brought about by your failure to provide information or documentation or your failure to provide material that is later found to be material to your BAS/Bookkeeping requirements. You are responsible for the timely provision of information and we/I will not be responsible for any late lodgement or other fees and fines brought about by your failure act in a timely manner. We/I will not be responsible for any errors in the BAS other than those that can be shown to be our/my fault.

Professional Fees and Payments

Our/Mystandard professional fees are (subject to notification of any changes to the rates):
