Line Management
Responsibility is to the Business Support Manager
Core Purpose
The postholder’s key accountability will be
- To carry out administrative duties at the direction of the Business Support Managerin order to support staff and students and promote the school’s values and standards through contact with its stakeholders
Responsibilities specific to the post
- To carry out a full range of administration duties as directed by the Business Support Manager, operating computerised systems as and when required
- To carry out general telephone and reception duties as directed by the Business Support Manager, dealing with enquiries from staff, students, parents, visitors and tradesmen as necessary and ensuring that all visitors are issued with appropriate passes in line with current Safeguarding procedures
- To ensure, together with the School’s Security Officer, that all staff and sixth form students follow the signing in procedures and that new sheets are available daily
- To ensure that students who arrive late into school record their names in the late book and are issued with a detention slip
- To issue passes to students who have appointments and are required to leave school before the end of the day
- To be responsible for inputting alert slips, praise slips and detention slips onto a data base on the SIMS system
- To be responsible for gaining authenticity from parents/carers for all notes excusing students from PE lessons
- To assist with the school post, including the maintenance of an up-to-date post book, and the collection of the external post at the end of the school day
- To prepare materials for teachers and students
- To support the school in meeting its safeguarding responsibilities
- To participate in the school’s arrangements for performance management and CPD
- To carry out any other duties as may be commensurate with the grade and nature of the post.
