Objectives
The participant should be able to:
- Discuss the state-of-the-art in brain injury outcome measurement
- Distinguish cognitive domains in which there is strong vs. weak empirical evidence of efficacy
- Describe at least 2 specific methods of cognitive rehabilitation that have strong empirical support
- Describe at least 6 important features of a comprehensive brain injury rehabilitation day program
- Describe the features of patients who require comprehensive day treatment compared to those who will benefit from more limited outpatient rehabilitation
- Describe at least 4 fundamental features of effective vocational rehabilitation for people with brain injury
- The learner will formulate an opinion about the future of clinical neuropsychology.

Target Audience
Neuropsychologists, Psychologists, Speech-Language Pathologists, Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Educational Diagnosticians, Physiatrists, and other rehabilitation professionals.
Evaluation
Evaluation by questionnaire will address program content, presentation, and possible bias.
Accreditation
The Houston Neuropsychological Society designates this Continuing Education Activity for a maximum of 6 CE Hours/Credits of Continuing Education. The Houston Neuropsychological Association is approved by The American Psychological Association to offer Continuing Education for Psychologists. We also offer 6 CE hours for speech-language pathologists. Certificates of attendance will be available for other professionals. The Houston Neuropsychological Society maintains responsibility for the program.

The Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center is located at 2002 Holcombe Blvd., between Old Spanish Trail (OST), Almeda Rd, and Cambridge Rd, a few blocks east of the TexasMedicalCenter. Please use the OST entrance, and park in the main parking areas (F, G, H, I, J & K). Upon entering the VA Medical Center through the main entrance, there will be signage posted to the auditorium. The symposium will be held in the 4th floor Main Auditorium.
Fee, Registration, and ConfirmationInformation
Payment must be made in U.S. funds, payable tothe Houston Neuropsychological Society. Acontinental breakfast, lunch, and coffee breaks are included in the registration fee. Seating will be limited! Registration deadline is Friday, Sept. 30th. Your registration will be confirmed. If you have not received confirmation by October 13th, contact Christina Meyers, Ph.D. at713-792-8296, immediately. If you plan to register on-site, contact Christina Meyers, Ph.D. at least 24 hours in advance to confirm program status and space availability.
The Houston Neuropsychological Society reserves the right to limit the number of participants in a program and will not be responsible for any expenses incurred by an individual whose registration is not confirmed and for whom space is not available.

Cancellation / Refund Policy
The Houston Neuropsychological Society (HNS) reserves the right to conduct this symposium based on meeting a minimum enrollment and to cancel this symposium not less than 5 working days prior to the scheduled program date, if low enrollment or other circumstances make it necessary. Each registrant will be notified at the contact number indicated on the registration form followed by written notification. In the case of symposium cancellation, registration fees paid will be refunded in full. However, HNS is not responsible for any other costs incurred such as airline, car rental, or hotel charges, including penalties.
