The biggest and most significant novelty that Comacchio will present during Geofluid 2016 is the CH 450 in the new multipurpose-CFA version. The configuration that will be exhibited during Geofluid was specifically designed to meet the needs of customers who mainly focus on CFA, but who also need to perform bored piles using the Kelly bar system with cylinder pull down (CPD). The multipurpose rig can be converted from CFA to bored piles application in a few simple steps. The CFA configuration includes both the “standard version” accommodating 17 m augers and reaching 22.5 m drilling depth, and the “XL version” that can reach up to 24 m drilling depth thanks to special mast and auger extensions “This is another step forward in the company strategy of developing a complete product range covering all the needs of customers in the foundation industry. Our customer know us as a reliable supplier of small and medium diameter drilling rigs, but with the creation of the Piling Division in 2015 we aim to expand our business to the large diameter segment, and to achieve this goal we can now count on a new production facility that came into operation in May. The CH 450 on display at Geofluid is one of the first units that have been entirely produced in our new factory”, says Flavio Durigan, Sales manager of the company.
The foundation equipment will be largely represented by as much as six models of the Comacchio MC line. The MC machines on display, specifically designed for ground engineering works, such as micropiles, anchors and jet grouting, will vary from the smallest MC 4 D (a compact unit with separate power pack capable of working in low headroom and difficult access conditions) to the largest MC 30 (a 30 ton machine offering 16 m stroke specifically designed for micropiles, CFA and jet grouting). “The list of MC line machine on display cannot fail to include some cornerstones of the Comacchio range, such as the MC 8, MC 12, MC 15 and MC 22” – adds Durigan – “All of the machines on display will feature new generation Stage 3B / Tier 4 Interim engines complying with the latest emission standards. The machines we will take to Piacenza also offer enhanced level of safety in compliance with new European safety standard EU 16228, as their design has been upgraded with the safety devices and additional control systems required by the EU norms.”
The geotechnical sector will be represented by two GEO Line rigs conceived to give the maximum performance in geothermal/water well drilling and soil investigation works. “The GEO 901 we will have on display features a 30 ton pull mast and a double head system providing up to 4800 daNm torque on the lower rotary. It is the ideal solution for geothermal drilling using double drill string. The GEO 405 we will have on display will feature a new DEUTZ engine, providing 85 kW, thus enabling the machine to operate an exceptionally performing R1000 rotary head and to accommodate a 200 l/min water/mud pump. This makes the new GEO 405 the most powerful machine in its weight category, while maintaining the advantages of compact size”.
As a complement to the drill rigs, Comacchio has chosen to display the new version of the CPH, an excavator-mounted unit created specifically for the handling of the drilling equipment on site. “The CPH was already presented during Bauma last April and enjoyed a great success among the public. It can be used to load and unload rods and casings of variable diameters (from 60 to 300 mm), up to 4000 mm in length, either single tube, for open hole drilling systems, or double tubes, for overburden drilling systems. The advantage of this system is that it can be used with drill rigs of any size, unlike the handling systems installed on the machines, and it is less subject to weight and capacity restrictions. The CPH 2.3 that we will showcase in Piacenza includes three clamps, but we also offer a smaller version with just two clamps. The excavator at the base was specifically designed for this application and optimized to ensure maximum operator-friendliness: all the manipulator controls are integrated into the joysticks of the excavator itself" - says Flavio Durigan.
Geofluid will also offer the opportunity to retrace the history of Comacchio and celebrate the company’s 30th anniversary within an event that will be held on Friday.
