DRESS CODE:

During the Regional Conference, we will adhere to the Business Professionals of America Dress Code as approved for National attendance. It is up to the individual advisor to inform their students of appropriate attire when attending any Business Professionals of America function.

Students as well as advisors attending the Regional Conferenceshould develop a keen awareness of the image their attire projects in the business world and wear professional dress at all conference-sponsored activities. Students inappropriately dressed will not be allowed to compete.

Official Dress Code (From National BPA website):

In order to promote a professional atmosphere, BPA’s Board of Directors has developed the following official dress code policy for the Business Professionals of America State and National Leadership Conference. Students, advisors and chaperones must follow the dress code.

It is required that all guests follow established dress code policy.

Professional Dress Code is Required for the Following:
Opening Session, Awards Sessions, ALL Competitive Events (judged, non-judged, and open),
Women
  • Pant or skirt suit
  • Dress skirt or dress slacks with coordinated blouse and/or sweater
  • Business professional “dress”
  • BPA blazer with dress skirt or dress slacks and blouse or sweater
/ Men
  • Dress slacks, dress shirt, and tie
  • Suit, dress shirt, and tie
  • Sport coat, coordinated dress slacks, dress shirt, and tie
  • BPA blazer with dress slacks, dress shirt, and tie

Denim is not allowed and Dress shoes or dress sandals with heel are required.

Newly Added: Girls skirts must be no more than 2” above the top of the knee.

Professional dress is required. No jeans, t-shirts, or tennis shoes! We are following the National guidelines.

Members not dressed in required attire will not be able to participate in any session or any competitive event. Those not adhering to the dress code will not be allowed into the opening/closing ceremonies. Members not adhering to the Professional Dress Code will also not be allowed on stage to collect their award(s).

The following are unacceptable during BPA activities:

  • strapless, spaghetti straps, tube tops, halter tops, midriff tops
  • spandex, lycra, or transparent clothing
  • cut-offs or ragged clothing
  • clothing with inappropriate words and pictures
