Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with strong change management skills required.

Functional Responsibility:

Provides vision and leadership on enterprise business system implementation projects to ensure complex organizational, process, and technology elements are integrated into an efficient solution. Employs process improvements and reengineering methodologies and principles for modernization of systems and projects utilizing specific executive management with agency wide expertise. Demonstrated experience in the design, development, or implementation of enterprise business systems and/or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.

Recognized for expertise in business process re-engineering, performance management, IT strategy development, organization design/strategy, change management, systems integration and performance improvement. Ability to utilize functional area expertise to assess, select, manage and implement improvements to business operations and the implementation of enterprise application components to ensure that the technical solution solves the business problem. LABOR CATEGORY: BIG DATA ARCHITECT

Minimum/General Experience:

At least 12 years of experience in supporting Enterprise Data Warehouse, Business Intelligence and Data Architecture initiatives. The Big Data Architect is responsible for assessing project fit for Big Data solution, reviewing/creating the logical designs for such solutions, governance of standards and guidelines compliance, and ensuring all solutions are in line with our BI strategy and roadmap

Functional Responsibilities:

Responsible for the analysis, technical design and implementation of Big Data services using existing and emerging technology platforms. Big Data includes data staging platforms, ETL/ELT practices, and Relational and NOSQL technologies. This includes capacity and implementation planning, collaboration with business partners, Data Services and Data Implementation teams.

With a focus on providing business value and speed to implementation, conducts analysis of organizational needs and goals for the development and implementation of high performance data platforms. Monitors and supports operating efficiency of Big Data environments in Development, Test, DR and Production. Maintains and participates in vendor relationship programs and provides support.

Provide thought leadership in the definition, design and build of solutions for Enterprise Data Warehouse with emphasis on the Big Data Platform (Hadoop) and it’s integration with the EDW. Determines enterprise information assurance and security standards. Develops and implements information assurance/security standards and procedures. Coordinates, develops, and evaluates security programs for an organization. Recommends information assurance/security solutions to support customers’ requirements. Identifies, reports, and resolves security violations. Establishes and satisfies information assurance and security requirements based upon the analysis of user, policy, regulatory, and resource demands. Supports customers at the highest levels in the development and implementation of doctrine and policies. Applies know- how to government and commercial common user systems, as well as to dedicated special purpose systems requiring specialized security features and procedures. Performs analysis, design, and development of security features for system architectures. Analyzes and defines security requirements for computer systems which may include mainframes, workstations, and personal computers. Designs, develops, engineers, and implements solutions that meet security requirements. Provides integration and implementation of the computer system security solution. Analyzes general information assurance-related technical problems and provides basic engineering and technical support in solving these problems. Performs vulnerability/risk analyses of computer systems and applications during all phases of the system development life cycle. Ensures that all information systems are functional and secure.
