Each Teen And Miss Contestant Will Give A One Minute Speech On A Platform Of Choice Followed By A Five Minute Interview

Each Teen And Miss Contestant Will Receive At Least One On Stage Question Which Will Be Added To The Original Interview Score

THERE WILL A QUEEN CROWNED FOR EACH COUNTY PER DIVISION!!!! TEENY- MISS QUEENS WILL REPRESENT THEIR RESPECTIVE COUNTIES AT THE 70TH GEORGIA STATE FORESTRY PAGEANT TO BE HELD IN JUNE 2009. ENTRY FEES TO THE STATE PAGEANT WILL BE PAID BY THE LOCAL DIRECTOR. ANY OPTIONALS ENTERED AT STATE AS WELL AS AD PAGES WILL BE PAID FOR BY THE QUEEN.

Queens:

·  Queens will receive a Beautiful 4” Full Round Crown with Crystal Stones, Embroided Banner With CountyTitle, Trophy And Gift Basket

·  Each Contestant Will Receive A Participation Trophy And Gift

·  Queens Will Represent Their Respective Counties Throughout The Year At Various Activities Such As Arbor Day, Parades, Ribbon Cuttings And The State Pageant

Pageant Rules:

1)  Contestants will compete in the age division they are the day of the pageant unless a contestant has a birthday and changes age divisions prior to the State pageant in June. She then moves up to the next division.

2)  It is mandatory that Teeny-Miss represent their respective counties at the Ga. State Forestry Pageant in June.

3)  Miss contestants must reside, work, or attend school in the county or adjoining county they represent. Miss contestants must be a legal resident of Georgia.

4)  The purpose of the Georgia Forestry Pageant is to offer educational opportunities to young ladies and promote the Forestry Industry for that county. Should you be named a local Forestry Queen you must represent only your Forestry title during your reign. You may compete in other pageants during your reign as long as you gain permission from your local director. However you must only promote the Forestry title during appearances.

5)  Local Forestry director will be responsible for your entry fee to the State Forestry Pageant. Queens will be responsible for ads, optional,etc.

6)  Should a Queen for any reason not attend the State Forestry Pageant she will be responsible for refunding the local director the entry fee.

7)  Queens must always act in a ladylike manner, dress appropriately for appearances, and always wear crown and banner. No barefeet will be allowed during appearances. Dress attire must be approved by the local director.

8)  Miss Queens will receive a savings bond at the end of her reign provided she has fulfilled her obligations to the local Forestry title. The local director at the time of crowning will be responsible for those gifts. If for some reason the directorship at the local level changes prior to the end of her reign the director that crowned the Queen will remain responsible.

9)  Miss Queens will be responsible for making contact with the Director, not other family members. We feel that this is part of your responsibility while wearing the crown.

10)  Contestants must have never been married, ever been pregnant or ever had a baby. Queen cannot marry, become pregnant, or be charged or convicted of a crime during her reign.

11)  Queens agree to abide by all rules and regulations now in effect or announced thereafter.

12)  The pageant will be conducted under the rules set forth by the local Forestry Pageant and a contestant agrees that the time, manner, and method of judging shall be solely within the discretion of the Local Forestry Director and the judges decisions are final.

13)  No refunds unless the pageant should be cancelled.

14)  The deadline to enter is January 30,2009

15)  A contestant must be of good moral character, never convicted of a crime, and shall possess poise, personality, intelligence, and charm.

16)  No cameras of any kind, video or photo allowed in the building. No cell phones or pagers allowed. This is a distraction to the contestant as well as the judges and auditors.

17)  If you should be named queen of the local Forestry Pageant the local director will give you State packets the night you win. These packets are due 3 weeks after you win your local title. All Queens must stay at the Holiday Inn in Tifton if staying overnight during the State Pageant.

18)  A $40.00 service charge will be charged for any returned checks.

19)  No food or drinks allowed in the Theatre.

20)  Admission is $7.00 per person. Children 3 and under free.

21)  Should there be a problem of any kind during the pageant the contestant is to go to the local director. Any unruly, unsportsmanship, or any unbecoming conduct by a contestant or member of her entourage could result in immediate dismissal from the competition without refund. Depending on the severity of the action it cold result in a permanent ban from future competition of the Georgia Forestry Pageant. If a Queen should lose her local or State Forestry title she will not ever be allowed to compete for a Forestry title in the future. All prizes received must be returned to the local director as well as any fees paid on her behalf.

22)  Baby - Junior contestants will be scored a 1 – 10 on personality, beauty, poise, gown, and overall appearance.

23)  Teen and Miss will be scored 50% on a five minute interview, 25% on a one minute speech, and 25% on evening gown. Onstage question scores will be added to the original interview score.

24)  If a Local Queen wins State Forestry, she shall be able to keep her local title and any prizes from the local pageant but she will represent her State title only.

25)  No soliciting of any kind is allowed at any Local Forestry Pageant. We look forward to you joining us in the fun and excitement of promoting Forestry for the State of Georgia.

1
