--REMEMBERING CRIME VICTOMS – This week, Jon Wilmot, director of the Restorative Justice Coalition, explains how a purely punitive response to crime can sideline the people most desperate for healing: the crime victims themselves. Go to KDCR, 88.5 FM on Sunday at 2:30 P.M. to listen to Crossroad Connection - a restorative justice ministry of Crossroad Bible Institute.

--ANNUAL PUBLIC INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION - The Village grounds will be alive with carnival booths, a variety of great food choices, a Bill Riley Talent Search qualifying event for the Iowa State Fair, horse drawn wagon rides, a petting zoo, kettle korn, an Amazing Race competition, inflatable’s, a gigantic fireworks display and more on Friday, July 3.We are excited to bring Kelsey K to the outdoor stage for our musical entertainment! Bring your lawn chairs and enjoy the festivities.The food vendors will be ready to tempt your taste buds starting at 5:00 pm with entertainment beginning at 6:00 pm.

--THE NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) SUPPORT GROUP will meet in the Fireside Room of Central Reformed Church in Sioux Center from 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, July 7. We will see Unlisted,a documentary film about schizophrenia. Individuals and family members coping with mental illness are invited to join us.

--THE NORTHWEST IOWA SYMPHONY ORCHESTRAFriends Board (Friends of NISO) is sponsoring a garden tour on July 7 from 4pm-8pm and July 8 from 9am-1pm. Tour gardens are at the homes of

Howard & Vicki Hall, Jerry & Shirley Isakson, Jack & Marlene Timmer, and To Van Voorst. Truffles will be served at the Ground Effects gazebo. All proceeds are to support the NISO Student Scholarship Fund.

Tickets ($15 each, or 2 for $25) are available at the Sioux Center Chamber Office, 303 N. Main Ave, all day July 6 & 7 and the morning of July 8. Tickets will also be available at each garden site both days.

--IRETON COMMUNITY VBS PROGRAM - Remember to get VBS registrations in by July 12.If you have any questions please contact a VBS committee member.VBS will be held Aug 3-6 from6 to 8:30pm at the First Reformed Church.A short program will be held Thursday evening.There are signup sheetsin the back of church for helpers,drink and snack donations.

--RODS N’ RIDES CHURCH SERVICE - Bikers, classic car owners, and fellow worshippers are invited to participate in Rods N' Rides Church this summer! Enjoy a group ride and informal outdoor worship service, followed by optional noon meal/afternoon ride in NW Iowa.On Sunday, July 12, we’ll be leaving the Centre Mall parking lot at 9:45 am for a 10:30 am service at Mill Creek Park in Paullina with guest speaker Pastor Kerry Cristoffer, a biker from Montevideo, MN. A lunch wagon is offered at the park.

--VILLAGE NORTHWEST BENEFIT GOLF TOURNAMENT - Village Northwest Unlimited in Sheldon invites you to get involved in their 15th annual benefit golf tournament at Landsmeer Golf Club in Orange City on Monday, July 20.
