Information/Discussion:

● Motion to approve meeting minutes from May 25, 2016

● Back to school open house is September 14, 2016 at 5:30 pm - 7 pm. We will have a

PTO informational booth for parents and will be asking State Farm to borrow popcorn

machine for that night. Prepare information for parents on how they can serve on the board.

● Popcorn machine that was ordered in the spring was returned due to damaged machine.

● Removal of Cathy Escalante from De Anza Magnet PTO Bank Account is still pending.

It was voted to put Mrs. Duran on Account.

● Book Fair week this year is on October 24, 2016. The Library and PTO will be hosting Parent night on Wednesday, October 28, 2016 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. The library is asking for

donations from PTO to purchase cake, cookies, milk and coffee to hand out during this

event.

● PTO will like to have Santa Secret shop this year. Would like to have a parent night

during this week called Winter Wonderland. Last year it was a huge success. PTO will host warm drinks and cookies.

● PTO would like to have a yard sale event as a fundraiser.

● We would like to purchase T-shirts at our own cost. Need to get an approval to use the De Anza Magnet logo. Cost for polo shirts are approximately $12.00 dollars.

● Movie night Fundraiser for March 15, 2017 would like to confirm date with Mr. Sanchez and teachers.

Other Agenda Items for October Discussion

1.  Would like to meet with Mr. Sanchez to review his goals for PTO. Will call to set a meeting date.

2.  Establish a new Facebook account for parents and students.

3.  PTO would like to review possible funding for drinking fountains and shades.

4.  Review and complete by laws for approval on January 2017.

5.  PTO would like to host a Robotic Day, host trophies for winners, set guidelines (possible April 2017 event)

6.  Provide more LEGOS and a TV for the Library during their recess time.

7.  Look to see if we can use the DINER and what we can sell out of that venue.

8.  PTO would like to provide our own calendar so school can post it on the website.

9.  Establish a connection with team mom/dad/guardians for each room.

10.  Fall Festival - ? how about a Halloween Carnival
