Residue Chemist Job Description:

Under the direction of the Chemical Residue Laboratory Manager, performs pesticide and industrial chemical residue analyses. Strong knowledge of gas/liquid chromatography and other residue equipment is desirable to ensure proper maintenance and accurate results.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Performs pesticide and industrial chemical residue analyses on ingredients and finished products according to established standards and procedures.
  • Ensures samples are taken according to current sampling program and distributed to the lab for analyses.
  • Properly maintains laboratory equipment and instruments and is able to make minor repairs.
  • Keeps current with new and developing technologies to ensure the most up-to-date, modern laboratory.
  • Properly disposes waste materials in compliance with EPA requirements.
  • Maintains a neat, clean and orderly lab.

Job Qualifications

• Minimum education required: Bachelors degree in Science Field with emphasis in Chemistry.

• 3+ years experience in industrial chemical analysis.

• Must be competent in analytical methodology and possess strong organizational and written/verbal communications skills.

• Computer literacy
