Horatio Alger Scholarship

This scholarship program provides financial assistance to students who have financial need and have exhibited integrity and perseverance in overcoming personal adversity. Other eligibility criteria includes: minimum GPA of 2.0, be a U.S. citizen, be involved in co-curricular and community service activities. The scholarship awards range from $7,000-$25,000. Arizona Milk Producers Scholarship Contest

Three scholarships in the amounts of $12,000, $10,000, and $8,000 will be awarded to 2017 college-eligible Arizona residents who are or will be enrolled in a post-secondary school (university, college or community college). One weekly finalist will be selected based on their entry and the winners will be announced at the Fiesta Bowl game on December 31, 2016. Flinn Foundation Scholarship

The Flinn Scholarship is a merit-based scholarship that is awarded to 20 Arizona seniors who demonstrate strong work ethic, sharp intellect, meaningful accomplishments, and effective leadership. Flinn Scholars receive a scholarship package that covers nearly the entire cost of four years of study. The application is available online at www.flinnscholars.org.

The University of Arizona Baird Scholarship

The amount of this scholarship is $12,500 per year for 4 years. In addition to the funds from the Baird Foundation, the University of Arizona will provide a full-tuition scholarship including mandatory student fees and the Honors Colleg fee, currently valued at $12,300 per year. This award will replace any Wildcat Excellence scholarship offered to the recipient. The combination of these 2 awards is valued at almost $100,000. Prudential Spirit of Community Scholarship Award

American Legion Oratorical Contest

Contestants must submit the Entry Form by January 1, 2017. All contestants will be required to deliver a prepared oration 8-10 minutes in length. The prepared oration must be based on some aspect of the Constitution of the United States which will give emphasis to the attendant duties and obligations of a citizen to our government. Catching the Dream Scholarship Program

“The mission of the Catching the Dream program is to help improve the quality of life in Indian communities through the higher education of Indian people.” They provide scholarship assistance for students who demonstrate academic achievement, clearly defined goals, leadership, the determination to succeed, and the desire to return to their communities and help others realize their dreams. Scholarships are awarded on merit and students must attend an accredited college or university. To qualify, students must be ¼ or more degree American Indian, and be an enrolled member of a U.S. tribe, students must have a high GPA and have a high ACT score. Students should have clear goals about what they want to accomplish in life and those goals must be related to the betterment of an Indian tribe or community. Progress toward accomplishing a goal may be demonstrated by study, works, volunteerism, extracurricular activities, leadership roles, and letters of recommendation. National Security Agency- Stokes Educational Scholarship Program

The program is available to students who might be interested in pursuing one of the National Security Agency’s career fields. Benefits of this program includes: tuition and mandatory fees up to $30,000 per year, year-round salary while attending college, housing and travel entitlements during summer employment, continued employment with the NSA after graduation, paid time off, health and life insurance, federal retirement plan. The Stokes Program is open to high school seniors, particularly minority students, planning to major in computer science or computer/electrical engineering. With this program, you will attend college full-time, then work during the summer at NSA’s main headquarters in Fort Meade, Maryland, for a minimum of 12 weeks in areas that are related to your course of study. To be eligible for this program, you must be a U.S. citizen, be eligible to be granted a security clearance, achieve a minimum ACT score of 25 or SAT score of 1200, have a minimum GPA of 3.0.
