SAMPLE POSITION DESCRIPTION: BOOKKEEPER

Position Title: / Bookkeeper
General Description: / Perform bookkeeping, reconciliation and data processing duties for clients.
Employment basis: / Full-time
Hours per Week: / 37.5 (plus 2 hours overtime)
Non-standard Workplace Conditions: / Majority of work to be performed on client premises

Qualifications: / Necessary: à Certificate IV in Bookkeeping
Desired: à Degree in Business/Commerce (Accounting major)

General Responsibilities:

Specific Position Duties:
·  Performing bookkeeping work for clients in the areas of:
o  Specified Account Reconciliations
o  Accounts analysis
o  Journals
o  Data entry
o  Payroll
o  Business Activity Statements
o  Instalment Activity Statements
·  Proactively seek work from pre-existing clients in relation to preparing their Business Activity Statements quarterly/monthly (i.e. requesting their records at the end of each GST period).
·  Proactively seek work from pre-existing clients to prepare their end of financial year “Accountants Pack”
·  Bill all clients on a timely basis.
