In thesis Master programs, for each student, the department board recommends a thesis advisor, who is a member of the university staff, until latest at the end of the first semester, and proposes the subject of the thesis specified by the student and the thesis advisor until latest the end of the second semester to the institute. The thesis advisor and the thesis subject are finalized with the approval of the Executive Council.The thesis advisor is selected from the faculty staff according to the qualifications specified by the Academic Council. In case the university does not have a staff member with the required qualifications, a faculty member from another University can be selected as the thesis advisor by the Executive Council within the framework of principles specified by the academic council of the univeristy. In case of a thesis study requiring more than one thesis advisor, the co-advisor that will be chosen among individuals outside of the university staff must hold at least a doktoral degree.
