PARENTS’ EVENING

Our next Parents Evening will be held on Monday 23 November from 7-9 pm in the Oak Hall. If you would like to book a specific time within this period, please complete the forms you will receive shortly and we will do our very best to accommodate you, otherwise we will allocate a time closest to your preferred time – allocations are made on a first come, first served basis, so the earlier your form comes back, the more likely you are to get the time you would prefer. Sessions are in blocks of 15 minutes maximum. If you have difficulty attending that evening, or think you may need more than 15 minutes to discuss the needs of your child, please speak to Ginia, Shelene or your keyperson to make alternative arrangements. However, your keypeople are always available after the morning sessions if you need to speak with them.

ART/CRAFT WORK AND INFORMATION

Many of the children enjoy painting or craft activities during the morning. These and other items of information or useful handouts are put out at the end of the morning so please remember to check the tables when you collect your child to pick up their creations.

CHILDREN IN NEED

As always we like to encourage the children and their families to support others who are in need. We shall therefore be supporting Children in Need on Friday 13 November. Watch out for further details.

SANTA’S GROTTO

This will be held on Friday 4December. Children who usually attend on a Friday will be offered a fun morning with a variety of activities. Children not attending on a Friday are invited to come along to Santa’s Grotto, supported by a parent/carer. Each child will be given the opportunity to visit Santa, receive a gift and have their photo taken with Santa. More details to come. If you have any concerns, please ask.

NATIVITY AND PARTY: FRIDAY 11 DECEMBER

We shall commence the day with our Nativity, in the church. All parents/carers and friends are invited. Children should arrive by 9.15 am, in Nativity outfits, ready to start the Nativity at 9.30 am (ish!). The children will party until lunch. We anticipate children should be ready for collection at 12.30pm. Full details will follow, including details regarding costumes etc.

COFFEE MORNING

The next coffee morning for parents/ carers will be held on Friday 11 December following the Nativity.

This is a great opportunity for getting to know other mums and dads and also having the opportunity to share your views with our parent representative – not to mention the chance to treat yourselves to delicious cakes and biscuits. If you don’t already know Alaina, here she is!

OUTDOOR CLOTHING

We shall continue with outdoor play during the winter months as the weather allows. Please ensure that your child has a suitable coat and shoes for outdoor use. Please remember to clearly name any items of removable clothing, particularly outdoor coats, which makes our job so much easier at the end of the morning.

THEME FOR THIS HALF TERM

Our themes for this half term will be Space and Christmas. For one of our projects we will be collecting dry fallen leaves. We would also like other autumnal contributions for our interest table – conkers, acorns, chestnuts etc.

There will be ‘Show and Tell’ during the week commencing 17 November. Please look out for your note about which day your child/ren should bring their item.

SEVERE WEATHER

Just in case we should experience any snow before the end of term, the following will apply. In the event of extreme conditions, we will do our very best to remain open. If it is necessary to close the preschool an email will be sent to everyone who has registered their email address with the preschool and a bulletin will be posted immediately on our website. You can contact Ginia on 07854 751212 (this number will only be operational during emergency periods). Please note that t if the preschool is closed the regular preschool telephone number will not be available, as this telephone is always left on the premises.
