Raptor 660 FCR Installation
The FCR Carburetors have many variations on intakes manifolds and air filter options, but the carburetors will install the same way.
- First the intake spigots and air box adapters need to be installed. The intake spigots are included in the box with the carburetors. They are the round adapters with threaded ends. These screw into the intake side of the carburetors. Before installing put a drop of Red Locktite on the threads to create a tight seal, and insures they will not loosen.
- Next the other adapters included in the kit are for the air box side, and they use two small bolts to hold them onto the carburetors. These adapters appear to have an o-ring groove in them. Use RTV silicon such as Yamaha Bond or Three Bond and put a bead of gasket maker of your choice into the o-ring groove. Then bolt the adapters onto the carburetors. These adapters can only fit one way so you will not install them incorrectly. Wipe off any excess silicone.
- Now you are ready to install the carburetors onto the engine. Place the intake spigots into the intake manifold, and tighten the clamps down.
- Install the throttle cable. The carburetor end is the small 6mm male threaded adapter with two nuts. Thread the male adapter into the throttle plate in the top hole. This throttle plate should be located on the top right side of the carburetors. (as sitting on the bike looking forward)
- Use your fingers to turn the throttle shaft, so the cable can be installed. There are many different holes in the throttle shaft where the cable connects. Use the furthest to the bottom connection hole.
- You can now install the fuel lines. A longer fuel line will need to be used with these carburetors, and you can either purchase extra line from us or get it at your local auto parts store.
- The fuel line inlet is the plastic tube that comes out between the two carburetors on the bottom side near the bowls. The line you see coming off the top of the carburetors is a vent line. This vent needs to be tied into the crank case breather or another source of filtered air.
- Now you can install the air box boots or air filters on to the carburetors, and you are ready to ride.
