Standing Committee Reports

2. Six new math courses proposed as standard courses - Motion by Dr. Amanda Morales, seconded, motion passes.

3. Change in Leadership Studies Minor, which include a change in number of credits in the minor and some of the choices and new leadership courses – Motion by Mary, seconded by Dr. Linda Thurston, motion passes.

4. PCC –

·  The State Department of Education modified the Kansas Code of Conduct, which is included in our COE webpage.

·  Change of PPST, ETS will no longer offer the test after this summer. ETS will now offer the CORE (Core Academic Skills for Educators). Grade point average has been changed.

·  PCC needs to be aware of changes that could go through, which may affect accreditation. We will come back with a proposal, maybe a change in wording in the COE Policy and Procedures Handbook.

·  The Conceptual Framework Handbook is under revision. Dr. Kim is guiding that process. Standard 5 involves the Online Faculty Vita, which is changed to Faculty Profile Form. A committee met 5 times going through the questions to categorize questions for NCATE and 2025. OEIE is making the last changes. Since this is a new framework we need to capture baseline data during the month of April. Eventually, every October we will ask for data to keep the process in motion.

·  KSDE Program Review (due early fall) – First draft of reports and scoring guides are due in March. Currently 11 faculty members have volunteered to be reviewers of first drafts.

·  Those writing drafts will receive feedback. The Teacher Education Luncheon is scheduled for March 12.

·  Drs. Warren White, Judy Hughey, and Paul Burden will attend the CAEP (Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation) Spring Conference for training. The new CAEP standards (formerly NCATE) were adopted this past August.

·  NCATE Visit will be Spring 2016. Eight months before the visit we need to turn in the IR, which takes us back to June 2015. Dr. Burden will prepare a timeline to start the Fall 2014 semester for the IR, sine most universities start preparing a year ahead of time.
