Isle La Motte Elementary School’s

WEDNESDAY WEEKLY

October 5, 2011

Greetings ILM Families,

OPEN HOUSE TONIGHT!!

We really look forward to seeing you all at 6:00 to share what’s new at school this year. We will spend some time as a whole group hearing from the staff, followed by some time in your children’s classrooms to view their work and classroom learning environment. We will also be asking you about your hopes for your child’s education and any questions you might have.

FIELD TRIP AND BIKE RODEO THIS FRIDAY!!

It’s a busy week. This Friday morning all K-6 students and teachers will be headed to North Hero Elementary School by bus for the grand finale of the weaving unit. Chef Lisa will be making bag lunches to eat there for our hot lunch eaters, and our students will enjoy the opportunity to have a shared recess with North Hero after lunch. Please return the attached permission slip.

After the field trip, we will return to ILMES for a BIKE RODEO. All K-6 students should bring their bikes and helmets on Friday to learn bike safety and practice on the Sheriff’s bike course.

NECAP Tests

Two tests down, several more to go. Our students are doing a great job concentrating and trying their best. Please continue to help them get long nights of sleep. A nutritious, protein-based breakfast is a good thing, too. If students miss any portions of the NECAP test, we are required to schedule make-up tests for them, so please make every effort to have your children here during testing times.

WATER UPDATE

Some of you are aware that we have been working on improving the quality of water here. Safe drinking water has remained available at all times. We have improved the taste of this water by flushing the system and adjusting chlorine levels.
