WHEN THERE ARE 4 OR MORE ENTRIES IN ANY OF THE
6 UNDER SADDLE CHAMPIONSHIP CLASSES, OR 4 DRESSAGE LEVELS,
PRIZE MONEY WILL BE AWARDED.
If 4 horses are entered, The Champion will receive $10.
If 5 horses are entered, the Champion will receive $15, and the Reserve will receive $5.
If 6 or more horses are entered, the Champion will receive $20, and the Reserve will receive $10.

Definitions:
SPORT HORSE IN HAND - To be shown on the triangle. Horses 3 and over must be shown in a bridle. The two horses with the highest scores in each division shall be named Champion & Reserve. (Classes 3,8,13)
SPORT HORSE UNDER SADDLE - To be shown in Hunter or Dressage tack and attire. Kimberwick bits are not allowed. Prize money offered in Championships with 3 or more entries.

Definitions (cont):
WALK/TROT 10 & Under - May not cross enter in to any Class which requires a canter.
JUNIOR RIDER Horses and ponies ridden by Juniors age 18 and Under as per USEF Rules.
NOVICE RIDER Riders in their first year of showing at the canter and/or who have not won three blue ribbons while showing at the canter in SHUS.
JUNIOR/NOVICE HORSE Horses and ponies age 5 and under and/or horses and ponies which have not won three blue ribbons in SHUS.
OPEN Horses and ponies ridden by Juniors or Adults.
SPORT HORSE SHOW HACK - To be shown at the normal, collected and extended walk, trot and canter, as well as the hand gallop.
EQUITATION At judge's discretion, simple tests may be called for. To be judged on the performance of the rider.
DRESSAGE - USEF Dressage Tests 2011 will be used. USDF Intro Tests will be used. The two horses with the highest scores in each level shall be named Champion & Reserve. Prize money offered in levels with 3 or more rides.
GENERAL RULES & REGULATIONS
Entering the Show Grounds constitutes an agreement that you will not hold the owners or employees of the Wakefield 4H Center, or the Virginia Arabian Horse Association and its members, responsible for any loss or injury occurring at these Shows.
Dressage exhibitors must pre-enter by October 25. A COPY OF NEGATIVE COGGINS DATED WITHIN 12 MONTHS MUST BE INCLUDED WITH YOUR ENTRY. Payment for stalls or grounds fee must be included. If you show in SH only, ride through the gate will apply, but pre-registering is requested to assist with scheduling.
A 1minute gate call and a 3minute tack change hold will be enforced. Three entries constitutes a class. The Show Management reserves the right to combine, divide, add, cancel or delay classes as necessary.
All classes are open to horses and ponies of all breeds. Except where noted, all classes are open to any age rider. Adults may ride ponies.
To be eligible to enter a Sport Horse Performance Championship Class, you must have entered and been judged in at least one of the corresponding qualifying classes as noted.
RIDERS IN 10 & UNDER WALK/TROT CLASSES MAY NOT CROSSENTER INTO ANY CLASS WHICH REQUIRES A CANTER. They may enter other Walk/Trot classes, if eligible
The decision of the judge is final.
Hardhats are required for all hunt seat riders while mounted.
The Show Committee feels very strongly about maintaining a fun Show as well as a safe and abusefree atmosphere during the Show. Harsh and severe treatment of animals will not be tolerated. Goodwill and sportsmanship are essential for a fun and safe show for all. The Show Management reserves the right to bar any animal, exhibitor, owner or spectator for conduct not in the best interest of the Show.
All dogs must be kept on a leash, or they will be removed from the grounds. (Wakefield rule actually, they prefer you leave dogs home.)

INDEMNITY AND RESPONSIBILITY All entries are accepted with the understanding that neither VAHA and its members, the Wakefield 4H Center and its employees, nor any show official or volunteer will be held responsible for any loss, damage, or injury to any horse or article of any kind. All horses shall be under control and direction of the show committee but soley at the risk of the rider/handler/owner, who will be responsible for any loss, damage, or injury to any person, animal or property occasioned by him and the rider/handler/owner shall indemnify the above mentioned parties against any and all loss, damages, and liability thus occasioned, including but not limited to any and all legal costs. The submitting of an entry form to the committee shall constitute an acceptance by each person signing same of the provisions herein set forth.
