Visitors and residents of the city may have noticed two large art posters on the Radisson Plaza Hotel's Vine Street facade or hanging above Phoenix Park on an adjacent parking garage a couple blocks away. UK Art Museum is responsible for the two posters, which showcase two pieces by Julien Dupré, "The Harvester" and "In the Pasture," as part of a public art project. Both "In the Pasture" and "The Harvester" are on display at the museum as part of "A Romance with the Landscape."
Another program celebrating this rare exhibition is a session titled, "Perspectives: Art History Talks." This session, which is free and open to the public, offers an individual the opportunity to listen to Asbury College students address the artists and themes represented in the exhibition. "Perspectives" is scheduled for 4 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 7, at the museum.
A related exhibition, "American Impressionism,"is running concurrently with "A Romance with the Landscape." This exhibitionfeatures paintings by artists such as John Singer Sargent, Julien Alden Weir, Willard Metcalf and Wilder Darling.
