Tutor ______Signature ______
Assumptions What do you expect the students will already know about the language/content of your lesson?
Students will definitely have an understanding of the context: Seeing an old friend.
x: Great! I haven’t seen you for years! What have you been doing?
z: I’ve been working in Hollywood!
Anticipated problems (skills and classroom management – NOT language. E.g. problems with timing, grouping, instructions, topics, logistics, etc.)
Late Students
Grouping
Some of the tasks might be complicated, especially the form analysis since is a guided discovery. / Solutions to these problems:
Tell them to join a pair and they can explain the task.
If there are less than 3 students, they can work together as a group since all lesson is student centered.
Demonstrate and do examples, as necessary. If students still don`t understand it, take control and do it with them.
Personal Aims - What action points from your previous lesson(s) are you working on?
  • Try to ask more CCQs to check meaning
  • Language grading for pre-int level
  • Delayed error correction
/ Where are these on your lesson plan? What is your strategy to improve in these areas?
  • After the gist task, I made an exercise to convey meaning of TL (guided discovery) where I wrote CCQs as questions for Ss.
  • All text has been graded and I even give them some of the context in the introduction.
  • Hopefully I will have time for delayed error correction at the end of the lesson. (I allowed at least 3 minutes for it)

Board Plan: At each stage of the lesson the board will look like this:
1.I’ve been working in Hollywood since 2013. 2. He`s been living with me for about three years.
¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬
Past------x------present------future
2013
3.We`ve been doing karate classes together for six months.

To clarify the meaning, form, and pronunciation of the TL. / T will use guided discovery tasks to focus on the meaning and form of the:
Present perfect continuous use of ‘since’ and ‘for’.
The Ss will work on the meaning section of guided discovery independently or in pairs depending on number of Ss and tasks relating to ‘for’ and ‘since’
(6 minutes).
Then check answers in pairs (2 minutes),
T will clarify the meaning through WCFB (2mins).
T boards two sentences and draws the time lines. If students have problems understanding.
Then Ss will complete the form focus, and tasks relating to form (5minutes) with WCFB( 3 minutes).
T monitors and teaches- micro where needed.
12 / T>S

but no need to write down anything.
After that, Ss sit down and in pairs talk about the biggest lie and the most interesting facts.

Grammar Language Analysis – *Delete as necessary

Language area and use (4a): What is the grammatical structure you intend to teach and how is it/are they used? For example; modals of deduction, present continuous for future use
Present perfect continuous - use of ‘’for’’ and ‘’since’’
Target language (4a): provide example sentences to illustrate each structure (from the material you will use in the class)
1.. I’ve been working in Hollywood since 2013
2.We`ve been doing karate classes together for six months.
Focus on meaning (4b, 4i, 5g):What does the target language mean? What is it used for (e.g. to describe a past habit)? How will you CONVEY AND CHECK the meaning of the target language and its uses? (Please include all concept questions and draw any timelines etc. that you intend to use). Make sure your target language is conveyed through a specific context.
  1. This sentence means that since 2013 he is continuously working in Hollywood. He is still working. CCQs: 1. Does he work in Hollywood now? (YES) 2. When did he start working in Hollywood? (past, 2013, 3 years ago)
~~~~~~~~/
Past------x------present------future (Both sentence 1 and 2 for timeline)
2013
CCQs: Do they do karate classes together now? (Yes) 2. Have they done karate class together many times? (Yes)
