Terms and Conditions for Blue Orange Youth Theatre

The following terms apply to this document:

  • Member–an individual child in the Youth Theatre;
  • Tutors – the professional tutors running the Youth Theatre for Blue Orange Art Ltd.
  • Venue – the Blue Orange Theatre, 118 Great Hampton Street, Birmingham, B18 6AD
  • Location – refers to any other place where the Youth Theatre meets that is not the Venue.
  • Staff – refers to any person working for or on behalf of Blue Orange Arts Ltd.

Basic Details
  1. Times and Dates
  2. Saturday morningsat the Venue for 10 Week terms.
  3. Term Dates will be publicised on the Blue Orange Theatre Website and are subject to change/updating.
  4. Members are expected to arrive in good time to register and begin the session on time.

  1. Venue/Location
  1. All sessions and performances will be held at the Venueunless prior notice is given for changes
  2. Members of theYouth Theatre will remain in the Venue at all times during the sessions, including at any break times.
  3. Parents/Carers are responsible for organising transport to and from the Venue.
  4. Additional Circumstances: if for any reason the Youth Theatre will meet at a place other than the Venue, for performances, visits, etc, separate written notification will be given and “Location” will supplant “Venue” therein

  1. Company Dress Code
  1. Loose fitting, comfortable clothes suitable for physical activity. Clean, non-marking trainers or footwear. It is advised in poor weather to bring a change of footwear. Inappropriate clothes/footwear may result in the Member being removed from the session.
  2. NO Jewellery is to be worn due to Health and Safety Reasons (e.g. rings, ear rings, necklaces)
  3. MOBILE PHONES – must be switched off during sessions. This prevents disruption to sessions and/or technical theatre equipment. Contact with Members should be made via the Tutors or Venue. Full contact details will be provided.
  4. Please note that the Tutors, Venue or Staff cannot be held liable for loss or damage to any personal items brought to sessions, rehearsals or performances.

  1. Food and Drink
  1. It is highly recommended that Members bring plenty to drink (water or juice is always best).
  2. If there will be extended rehearsals or sessions that last longer than 2 hours due notice will be given and a packed lunch/meal may be required.

  1. Guests, Visitors and SECURITY
  2. Guests and Visitors must make prior arrangement with the Tutor(s) if they wish to attend/visit any session. For security reasons, and in respect of other Members,this includes parents/carers, friends and family of Members.

Payment, Cancellation and Refund Details
  1. Cost
  1. £60 per Member per term. For family bookings, the charge is reduced to £40 for each additionalchild(e.g. £60 + £40 = £100 for 2 Children).
  2. A £20 deposit is required to secure a place in the Youth Theatre
  3. Aseparate application form for each Member is required if 2 or more children from the same family are attending.
  4. Parents/Carers are responsible for covering the costs for transport and food/drink.

  1. Payment Options
  1. Payments are made directly to Blue Orange Arts Ltd. online at or by cheque made payable to “Blue Orange Arts Ltd.”
  2. Full payment must be paid by the dates publicised each term. Blue Orange Arts will publicise this date to parents/carers of Members no less than 28 days in advance.
  3. Please speak to the Tutors if you have any concern about your payments.

  1. Cancellation and Refunds
  1. The £20 deposit is non-returnable.
  2. After full payment for a Term has been paid, a minimum 4 weeks’ notice is required for cancellation of the membership (up to the end of a given term).
  3. No refunds or reduced payments will be given for a Member’s lack of attendance at individual sessions.
  4. Blue Orange Youth Theatre reserves the right to refuse or remove any Member of theYouth Theatre due to contravention of the Core Values (See below). In such circumstances, no refund will be paid.
  5. In the event that Blue Orange Youth Theatre cancels a session, part of term, or term a commensurate refund will be paid or equivalent arrangements made.

  1. Queries and/or Complaints
  2. Queries or complaints about any breach of the Terms and Conditions can be addressed to the Board of Trustees for Blue Orange Arts Ltd.

  1. Blue Orange Youth Theatre believes that every Member has rights and responsibilities in their role in the Youth Theatre. Every Member has the right to learn in an enjoyable, supportive environment, underpinned by a professional, disciplined approach to the creative process. As such, each Member has the responsibility to uphold the Core Values:
  1. Arrive at the Venue on time for the beginning of sessions, rehearsals and performances;
  2. Show respect for other Members of the Youth Theatre, the Tutors, the Venue and its Staff at all times;
  3. Be supportive of everyone in the Youth Theatre, sharing in the goal to create outstanding theatre.
