Classroom News
English Language Arts: Please refer to the Home Parent Letter and Focus Wall for “How Chipmunk Got His Stripes” in your child’s LA section of their binder for details regarding this lesson’s reading and writing instruction focus. J
Math: Please practice combinations of ten with your child (6-4,8-2,9-1,5-5,7-3). Next week the children will need to break apart numbers to make multiples of 10 when adding two-digit numbers. For example, 27+8= ___ 27+3=30 30+5=35. Thank you for your help at home! J
Thank you for continuing to practice addition and subtraction math facts at home with your child. It will make a BIG difference in how quickly your child can recall their math facts in class and solve problems! J
Miscellaneous: The district has decided to allow teachers to send home unit math tests and ELA assessments after all. Please review theses assessments with your child when they come home, and help your child make corrections by having them write the revised answer next to the incorrect answer. Please sign and return the tests. J
