Please accept this preliminary invitation to participate in the Carolina Blue Cup Team Handball Tournament to be held on the campus of the University of North Carolina the weekend of February 15-16, 2014. This tournament will be sanctioned by USA Team Handball and all players and teams must comply with all registration fees and paperwork, as prescribed by USATH. The tournament will begin play starting with a pre-tournament technical meeting on Saturday (2/15/2014) and medal round play on Sunday (2/16/2014). Some local and area teams may be scheduled to play Friday evening, providing longer games throughout the tournament.
Please note this is an invitational tournament and established teams from the United States and abroad will be invited.

ENTRY PROCEDURES
PLEASE SUBMIT THE ENTIRE $400 ENTRY FEE AND EMAIL YOUR PRELIMINARY TEAM ROSTER - MAXIMUM 15 PLAYERS - BY WEDNESDAY FEBRUARY 5, 2014. PLEASE MAKE CERTIFIED CHECKS/MONEY ORDERS PAYABLE TO “CAROLINA TEAM HANDBALL CLUB.”
NO ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER FEBRUARY 5, 2014.
withdrawALs
If you withdraw, AN EMAIL confirming your withdrawl must be POST- mARKED BY FEBRUARY 7, 2014, TO RECEIVE $150 of the ENTRY fee. Any team withdrawing after THIS DATE will forfeit the entire entry fee.

ROSTER CHANGES
You will be able to make roster changes VIA EMAIL IN WORD FORMAT up to 5pm Wednesday, FEBRUARY 12, 2014.
Additional Changes after this date will incur a penalty of $50 before friday, $75 on friday. A roster addition on saturday will result in a penalty of $100. PERSONAL CHECKS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.

All Saturday Games 2 x 25 (5 minute half time)
MEDAL ROUND PLAY Sunday’s non-medal placement games are 2 x 25

IMPORTANT REQUIRMENTS
USATH Sanctioning
USATH will be sanctioning our event and as such will impose strict controls over membership. All participants must have their current 2013-2014 membership. Rosters will be carefully verified by a USATH Representative and proof of identification can be asked of any player. For more detailed information, please see the USATH web site. Coaches are asked to ensure that their players are current.

Directions to Chapel Hill, NC
From the North - Rt. 95 South to Rt. 85 South. When in Durham, NC pick up Rt. 15-501 to Chapel Hill. Stay on 15-501 into Chapel Hill. Do not take the by-pass when in Chapel Hill (stay right when 15-501 forks in Chapel Hill). Go approximately one mile then turn left at intersection of Franklin St. and Raleigh Street. Take Raleigh St. to end - Fetzer Gym is directly in front of you; turn right and proceed to parking area.*
From the South - Rt. 85 to I-40, take Chapel Hill Exit (Rt. 86 - do not take Rt. 54 Exit). Turn right off ramp, proceed South on Airport Road approximately 4 miles into Chapel Hill. Turn left on Franklin Street, then turn right at light at 1st 4-way intersection (Raleigh Street). Take Raleigh Street to end- Fetzer Gym is directly in front of you. Turn right and proceed to parking area.*
From the West - Rt. 77 to W. Virginia Turnpike, pick Rt. 77 up in Virginia. Rt. 77 to I-40 East. Follow directions from I-40 as provided from South.
From RDU Airport - Take I-40 toward Chapel Hill. Go approximately 10 miles and look for Rt. 54 toward Chapel Hill (Exit 273-B). Continue straight off exit ramp as it merges into Rt. 54. Stay on Rt. 54 right into campus, Intramural fields will be on your left. Fetzer Gym is the third large Gym on left past the I-M Fields and proceed to parking area.*

Please arrive early in order to allow extra time for parking and to ensure that you find a legal space on campus. You should be able to park on Stadium Drive (immediately past Fetzer going toward the Bell Tower) or in the Bell Tower Lot (located immediately past Stadium Drive).

RELEASE AND INDEMNITY AGREEMENT
As part of the consideration for participating in the Carolina Blue Cup Team Handball Tournament and for using the associated practice and playing facilities and equipment, and in consideration of the voluntary nature of such participation and use, I hereby release, hold harmless, and forever discharge The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, its employees, agents and the UNC Team Handball Club from any and all liability, claims, demands, actions, and causes of actions whatsoever arising out or related to any loss, property damage, or personal injury, including death, that may be sustained by me or to any property belonging to me, whether caused by the negligence of the University, its employees or agents, or otherwise, while participating in such activity. Such participation includes practice, club functions, competition, and travel to and from all Tournament activities.
I am fully aware of the risks and hazards associated with participation and use of the facilities and equipment. I hereby elect voluntarily to participate in said activities and fully acknowledge that the full responsibility for any risk or loss, property damage, or any loss or any personal injury, including death, that may be sustained by me or any loss or damage to property owned by me as a result of being engaged in such activities, whether caused by negligence of the University, its employees or agents, or otherwise. I further acknowledge that I have procured on my own adequate insurance for such loss, damage, and injury. I further agree to indemnify and hold harmless the University, its employees, agents, and the UNC Team Handball Club from any loss, liability, damage or cost, including court costs and attorney's fees that may incur due to my participation in said activities, whether caused by the negligence of the University, its employees or agents, or otherwise.
This release and hold harmless agreement is binding on myself, my heirs, assigns, and personal representatives.
