NEJ Relay for Life “Winnie the Pooh and Tigers Too for a Cure” Walkathon

Teachers,

Our NEJ Relay for Life “Winnie the Pooh and Tigers Too for a Cure” Walkathon is 1st thru 6th Periods Friday, March 6, on the Tiger Track....be sure you come with any of your classes that are walking.... I will be responsible for my students ONLY and my students will only walk with me during the period that they have me during the day!!! Be sure to turn in any donations to me by Thursday, March 5, by end of school day so I can make one last deposit...otherwise, you may turn in your donations at the beginning of each period that you walk****Several walkers have folks who will give them the donations AFTER the Walkathon and that is fine....just make a note so we do not forget to get that donation!!

Hope you can participate with at least 1 class during the day; feel free to participate with all your classes….we will offer great food, drinks, and activities all during the day…

Please look through the packet and be sure to fill out the form on page 3 and return to me so that I will know which teachers and which classes will be participating! Would encourage you to “motivate” your students to be involved…most teachers have suggested that even if the students secure a $1.00 donation that they should be involved!

Remember that all donations are given and used 100% by the Jones County Cancer Society for Jones Countians….checks can be made to NEJ Relay or American Cancer Society. The t-shirts are precious and reflect our chosen “child’s book”: Winnie the Pooh! The short sleeve shirt is Gildan wheat colored (not a comfort color) …shirts are $15.00 with proceeds going to Relay for Life; they are available Monday, March 2!

We plan to have a closing ceremony at the field about 2:25 and hope to announce a total number of walkers and the total amount of donations to that point! Join us March 6! Thank you again!!!

Organization, Club, and Team Sponsors

Our 5th annual Tiger Walkathon is Friday, March the 6th, during 1st through 6th periods…we would love for every club to “donate” $25.00 to the NEJ Relay for Life fundraising efforts and in return you receive a location around the track for your tent or booth! This is a great opportunity to raise funds for a cure for cancer and raise some funds for your depleted club accounts…

The yearbook staff will have our usual tent with t-shirts, water, and drinks for sale. FBLA will sell cotton candy, Drama will sell pizza slices and drinks, Beta/French will sell Mugshot burgers, Serteens will sell cookies and McAlister’s tea, Spanish Club will sell Mexican donuts in the morning and nachos later in the day, HS Student Council will sell popcorn, Mu Alpha Theta will have pie eating contest, a cakewalk, and pies for sale, and Mrs. Mauldin’s team will have basketball shooting machine and possibly corndogs! Please let me know by Thursday, February 26, if your team/club/organization wishes to participate and what you will sell. I will need you to submit the $25.00 check made out to NEJ Relay for Life by Wednesday, March 4.

As soon as we know how many tents/booths there will be, we will send you a map and set up information. Thank you!
