WE GATHER TO WORSHIP GOD
The Prelude
*Call to Worship Psalm 95:1-3
O come, let us sing to the Lord; let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation!
Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise!
For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods.
Let us worship God!
*Hymn: “Oh come and sing unto the Lord” #61
Prayer of Adoration
Unison Prayer of Confession
Hear us as we confess to you our sins:
You give us your kingdom, yet we fail to live into the fullness of your governance.
We confess that we have failed to love fully, forgive wholly, and to share the joy of your presence.
You offer freedom but we settle for the familiar,
you offer risky love but we opt for safety,
you bring hope and we choose security.
Teach us to abandon our selfish and troubled ways, so that we might with confidence hand our lives over to you for the building of your kingdom.
Through Jesus Christ. Amen
Words of Assurance

WE HEAR GOD’S WORD

Unison Prayer for Understanding
O God, your thoughts are not our thoughts, your ways are not our ways; guide us by your word and Spirit so that in the hearing of the scriptures our thoughts and ways might be greater reflections of yours. Amen.

WE RESPONSE TO GOD’S WORD
*Hymn: “The love of God comes close” #474
Statement of Faith: The Apostle’s Creed (Historic)
I believe in the God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ His only Son, our Lord who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead and buried. He descended into hell. On the third day He rose again from the dead, He ascended into heaven and sits on the right hand of God the Father Almighty, from whence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen
*We Present our Offerings to God #79
Prayer of Dedication
Prayers of the People with the Lord’s Prayer
When the minister says “Thy Kingdom come” the congregation responds with “Thy will be done”
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory, forever. Amen.
*Hymn: “Love divine, all loves excelling” #371

MISSION MOMENT
WORLD AIDS DAY (DECEMBER 1) - Aids is now the leading cause of death among teenagers in subSaharan Africa, a region still devastated by the HIV epidemic. These deaths can be avoided through prevention and treatment, education, and sexual and reproductive healthcare. The Presbyterian Church in Canada, through Presbyterian World Service & Development, supports HIV and AIDS programs that fight stigma and discrimination, teach and equip people to prevent the spread and the transmission between mother and child, and provide home based care and medications to those living with the disease. On World AIDS day, we live in Christ’s hope for a world without AIDS and pray for those whose lives remain affected. PWS&D works for a world without AIDS
