NAMI-Santa Fe provides support, education, and advocacy for consumers, family and friends dealing with biological brain disorders such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and other severe and persistent mental illnesses. SUPPORT GROUPS


Support Group Meetings for Family Members and Friends:

·  4th Monday of the month at 6:00 pm

Location: The Life Link, 2325 Cerrillos Road, Santa Fe

·  2nd Tuesday of the month at 12:00 noon

Location: Hillside Market, 86 Old Las Vegas Hwy, Santa Fe

·  Last Wednesday of the month at 7:00 pm

NAMI Connection Recovery Support Group:

Consumer-run recovery support group for persons living with mental illnesses to learn from other’s experiences, share coping strategies, and offer encouragement and understanding.

Tuesdays from 6:45 – 8 p.m. in the Atrium Ballroom at CHRITUS St. Vincent – 455 St. Michaels Drive.

EDUCATION


Family-to-Family Education Program: A 12-week course for families and friends of adult individuals with mental illnesses taught by trained family members. Learn skills to cope more effectively. Topics include learning about facts of the illnesses, diagnoses and causes, new research, problem solving, communication skills, self-care, advocacy and much more. Family members describe this program as “life changing”.

Peer-to-Peer Education Program: A 10-week course for individuals with serious mental illness, taught by NAMI members who know what you are dealing with. Classes will cover key illness information, self-care, coping skills, and relapse prevention and recoverystrategies. You are not alone!

In Our Own Voice: Trained consumer speakers share compelling personal stories about living with mental illness and achieving recovery through presentations to the community.
