Have You Signed Up Yet?

Brother Lanny Breczinski has done an incredible job of promoting Eucharistic Adoration BUT we still have a long way to go to achieve the Parish Goal of Perpetual Adoration.

We have over 180 Knights in our Council and there are 168 hours in a week. As the saying goes “Do the math!”

Standing guard for the King is what knighthood is all about. Please consider helping if you are not already doing so!

Columbus HOPE (= Helping Other People Every Day) Collections:

(1)May 5, 9-11 AM and 1-4 PM: In Conway at the intersection at Conway City Hall (Main St. and 3rd). This is usually our best Tootsie Roll collection event. Help is really needed for the 1-4 PM Shift. Please call Jim Davis if available (tel.: 843-591-0148)

(2)May 6-7: After all Masses at St. James. Please help at the Mass you attend.

Feast of St. James, Sunday, May 7, 10:30 – 12:30 Bilingual Mass in Church followed by Outdoor Picnic

Help is needed with:

8:45 AM: Tent and table set up.
11 AM: Cooking of meat products which Council purchases.
1:30 PM: Tent breakdown and clean-up.

Family of the Year:

Stan and Linda Brown are the Council’s “Family of the Year for 2016-17”. In addition to Stan’s duties as Treasurer, he is an usher at the Sat, 6 PM mass, and actively volunteers at Catholic Charities. Linda is a Eucharistic Minister, participant in the Church Decorating Group, a Pastoral Visitor to sick and shut-ins andinvolved in other parish ministries. Both are also regular Eucharistic Adorers. Congratulations to Linda & Stan.

Parish “Gold Star Families” Honored

Our 4th Degree Assembly will honor parish Gold StarFamilies at the Masses of Memorial Day weekend (May 27 & 28).

Gold Star Families are families whose family members were

killedduring wartime servicewith the US Armed Forces.

If you or your spouse lost a grandparent, parent, sibling, spouse, child,niece/nephew or grandchild, then you are a Gold Star Family.

At the end of the Masses on those days but before the priestsays the dismissal, a 4th Degree Color Guard and Honor Guardwill enter church and face the parishioners. The names of all

the Parish Gold Star Families will be read along with the nameof their deceased members and the war in which they died. TheSir Knights will render honors by a Sword Salute as each name isread. The Gold Star Families will be asked to stand, if able, during this presentation at the Mass which they regularly attend.

If you are a Gold Star Family please let Don Ullmann know (e-mail: r call on his cell (843-254-1020). Please provide the nameof the deceased, the military service he/she was in, and the war inpassed away.
