Employment Skills Facilitator
to join our team
Duties include:
§ Developing, planning and delivering educational opportunities on employment skills, social skills, life skills, communication, relationships and workplace safety
§ Developing sessions using a variety of presentation styles and delivery techniques
§ Modifying sessions to meet challenges of individuals receiving supports
§ Providing community-based and “hands on” learning opportunities
§ Providing information on existing community resources and facilitating appropriate connections
§ In collaboration with support teams, providing direction to job coaches as to the delivery of on-the-job supports
§ Working in combination with the support team to develop assessment and support strategies
§ Supporting individuals to overcome personal, social or behavioral challenges affecting their employment
§ Teaching and modelling good communication, interpersonal skills, problem solving skills and professionalism
This position requires a dynamic individual with a creative ability to develop new approaches and demonstrate flexibility when faced with challenging situations in addition to knowledge on employment skills such as resumes, portfolios and interviewing techniques. Self-motivation, excellent time management skills, excellent communication and listening skills and sound judgment are essential. Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities and barriers to employment would be a great asset. Behavior management experience would be beneficial.
This position is based on a 35 hour work week, Monday-Friday.
Minimum Educational Requirements:
An unrelated diploma/degree with a minimum of one year direct experience in facilitation/delivery of information in a group setting.
Preference will be given to individuals with a Diploma/degree in Education, Human Services, Community Disability Studies, Recreation Therapy.
A valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle with $1,000,000 liability insurance and a current Criminal Record/Vulnerable Persons Check (completed within the past six months) is also required.
Pay Rates: $18.04–$20.53 per hour with benefits available after 3 months employment.
Successful applicants that possess a MSW, BSW or Diploma in Social Work, will be required to register and maintain registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers prior to commencement of employment.
