· Administering the policies of the MVTC in carrying out the provisions of the St.Louis Desegregation Settlement Agreement pertaining to vocational education as directed by the MVTC Board
· Specific duties included working with the region’s stakeholders to develop, improve, and expand technical programs for secondary students in the St.Louis region
Accomplishments
· Increased participation in CTE programs in St. Louis County with the addition of 14 Engineering Academies and 9 Academies of Information Technology, increasing student participation by adding 1600 students to a previous 1700 student total· Developed, published, and distributed St.Louis Careers Illustrated magazine which included a distribution of 50,000 copies per edition
· Assisted three St.Louis County Technical High Schools in receiving grant funds and implementing the High Schools That Work school reform model
· Assisted high school technical programs in improving or establishing their advisory committees.
· Developed program approval processes for Career and Technical Programs.
· Assisted with the development of the Construction Careers Charter High School served as a charter board member of that charter high school.
· Collaborated with St.Louis Community College in successfully obtaining a 5year College and Career Transitions Initiative grant totaling over $100,000 in funding for Academy sites.
· Collected and analyzed data pertaining to students’ perceptions of Career and Technical Education and as a result made program improvement changes

East Central College and Washington School District 1994-2000

· Increased onsite enrollment from 350 students in 1994 to 650 students in 2000· Credentialed all programs that could receive an industry credential, including ASE, AYES, NIMS, AWS, League of Nursing, Print Ed, and NATEF-ICAR
· 1996 to 2000 recognized by MOACTE as a platinum level in Marketing Career and Technical Education
· Reduced student attrition from 40% in 1994 to 15% by 2000
· Students in articulated programs could receive thirty college credit hours or onehalf of their Associates degree before leaving high school
· Developed a precision machining consortium of ten companies to endow a fulltime, yearround teaching and program coordinator position in the occupational area. The position is still funded today.
· Developed contracts with three school districts to operate their Adult and Community Education programs
· Implemented a supermarket careers program for handicapped students
· Developed and implemented Senior Option Programs whereby Senior high school students enrolled through Four Rivers AVTS could begin taking post-secondary programs offered on the East Central College campus in Electronics, Culinary, Horticulture, and Technical Design and receive both high school and college credit as a part of the school’s regular offerings
